I was referring mainly to the subreddit.

 

I don't like consoles, but they have a role. It is filled.

That role isn't filled that well with newer consoles-I bought an Xbox after getting my first computer-and it was far better for playing games while costing a shitload less overall (games, controllers, DVD remote etc). I could go out and buy an Xbone or PS4 right now, and my rig which is mostly from 2008-2009 is far better.

I would partially disagree. It's not the consoles, but some publishers, devs and big players. They are nit always bad, but when they are they are like plague. Give us the ports we deserve and consoles are no longer a problem.

Look at the overall performance compared to a PC of the same cost. They just don't give you any sense of value unlike earlier generations. And then there is the fact that consoles killed of multiplayer split screen with different methods of control on the same PC.
