Name a budget with a benchmark to beat in either a game, a synthetic benchmark, or something workstation related benchmark or task.

With a given budget. You must have hardware from a certain date (5+ years).. Point to a highlight time in LTT history. No ddr3! ddr2 only. That is what a true scrap yard wars would be to me. A blast from the past as you will, And for a finale toss in a Fury and a 980Ti to see how choked up the systems are.

No tools may be used what-so-ever. Only hands may be used, pre-built computers are off limits (they have to buy components, or bundles of components, but they may not be assembled)

 

Imagine installing a motherboard, with nothing but your hands. No screwdrivers.

as i suggested in another thread, why not make laptops 450-600$ (or maybe more...or 500$ for the build and 100$ for the monitor) budget, but it's gotta be using desktop parts and a screen, Not allowed to use intergrated graphics or low power CPU's such as Atoms or U or S series chips (maybe a 65W TDP minimum), it'll not just be rated on performance, but practicality, looks, ease of use....etc, got to make their own cases for them as well. 

 

so maybe test them out by having them use their systems for a day or two, do a bit of editing and gaming on them?.

 

im rather tired so forgive me if i cant explain it better :')
