That looks cool. temps are probably really low because of watercooling. I don't think this is reasonable though considering how much ram these have.

Wow some people really are stupid, comparing LN2 world record attempt benches to stock ones thinking its somehow representative of the real performance :D makes me laugh so much.

 

Take a look at the average/lowest 4x titan X, the ones with cards at stock benches, not the highest lmfao.

Here are watercooled Titan X's, 20,000 GPU score nearly.

 

This worries me because Fury X doesn't have overclockable memory yet.

it might be higher then any stock quad titan x or 980ti setup, but is it "practical"? until we have multi gpu vram stacking, quad fury x setups might be stupid. (that is if you don't already consider quad multi gpu stupid) you have enough powa (sic) to play "12k" (3x 4k displays), but doesn't have the vram to do even 4k shadow of mordor.

Fury X's 4GB of vram is actually much more than 4GB in the traditional sense.

 

Because it has a massively larger bandwidth than GDDR5, it can process more things at once while having to store less of it in the VRAM.

 

 

OC3D review covers it and explains how it works.

 

 

Picture it like this:

 

You have a box with stuff in it attached to a pipe, and all the stuff in the box needs to go through the pipe.

 

GDDR5:  HUGE box, small pipe.  Things have to sit in the box longer and wait to be moved through the pipe, so you need a bigger box to hold all the stuff.

 

HBM:  Smaller box, HUGE pipe.  More things fit in the pipe at once, resulting in a smaller box needed to hold the stuff.
