Is my setup good enough to last another year?

Hiho.

 

I just wanted to ask whether I should upgrade or not because I'm not sure whether my setup is "old"?

 

Well, here are the specs:

 

Z87X-OC-FORCE Gigabyte Motherboard (DDR3 not DDR4 unfortunately, but it supports quad SLI and my SLI are currently x16 x16 3.0 PCI-E) LGA 1150 socket.

CPU: i7 4790k with Noctua NH-D14 Cooler (Biggest air CPU cooler I could find)

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB Dual Channel (2400Mhz) (Is this quick enough?)

GPU: 780 TI in SLI (I actually get 15 more FPS on Witcher 3 and better performance on other titles like Shadow of Mordor, better than single 980 TI and that's without an overclock!)

InWin GRone Full Tower Case with Fan Turbo.

1000W Corsair GOLD PSU.

Lots of corsair 120mm quiet edition fans.

120GB Corsair SSD (Should I upgrade this?)

Yes.. yes you are set for a while with your setup, you are not in need for upgrading for some time.

I don't understand why you would think this is an old build :)

 

Keep it for 5+ years.

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

I can overclock the both GPUs to 1080 core clock, BUT it boosts to 1210 on air automatically and it stays 82 degrees anyway. I do have Skynet BIOS but not sure if I need it at this point.

1. define old. I would say it's pretty recent.

2. DDR4 would not be necessarily better in your case. The difference is not noticeable.

3. SSD may be faster if you buy a current 480GB+ but not something that you'll really notice. loading your game levels from a SSD improves the waiting time between levels/zones/locations but it won't make your pc overall any faster.

How to tell that your system's getting old:

 

It can't play new titles with the graphics levels you want.

 

Simple as that, if you're having no issues and you're happy with it then why upgrade?

If you really wanna upgrade the only thing I'd do is get the AMD Fury for $550 when it releases. Wait for benchmarks as we don't simply know yet but it's suppose to be better then a Titan at nearly HALF the cost. Plus you won't run into issue with games that don't support crossfire/SLI.
