Why is there so much hate towards AMD? Can anyone give me an honest non-condescending answer?

I personally don't like take a side one way or the other I just enjoy the tech, but everytime I post something that remotely involves AMD I immediately get replies telling me AMD sucks and I need to use Intel or Nvidia. Most of the time the posters aren't even answering my questions and many of the times are blatantly wrong, suggesting things like the lowest end Intel CPU would be better than a hi end AMD.

I just want to know why there is so much hate and misinformation. Because honestly all of the people that just immediately start sprouting AMD hate and Intel/Nvidia "Pride" are really starting to annoy me and push me away from their products.

Here, almost everybody want a HighEnd computer or Gaming Computer which is translated in to i5 or i7... Cheaps computers gets AMD... And they are very good for cheap computers. My brother got a FX-6350 with a ATI I dont remember which one for 600$ (Entire computer except monitor) and he get about 50fps in Battefield 4 Ultra... BUT its loud and gets hot... So... yeah... They are the second choice but they are good at that one xD

I'm from Spain so English is not my main language but I'm trying to make my best not writing any typo.

I don't stand on hype but on quality of product so;

Besides the fact that AMD is running behind Intel and Nvidia at the moment in terms of ability, they are stable to use.

I don't personally use them as I enjoy the selection Intel offers the consumer over AMD's somewhat more limited options in regard s to the CPU besides AMD has bee re-branding their CPUs and that is not cool.

I don't personally care for AMD taking over ATI when it did but this my opinion so I'll keep it to myself. I also wasn't happy that NVidia took over 3Dfx but it did do well for both companies in the end by far as it gave NVidia the chip architecture it needed in addition to its standing company structure, but I can't say the same for AMD and ATI as AMD did not do as good a job of integrating like NVidia did.

I have no hate on AMD just don't have a good opinion of them right now.

But Honestly this a click bait post. All your asking is for heated arguments.

There will always be those who hate on either side. Whether or not you can figure this out is on you. You need to learn how to filter the posts that are just there specifically to 'Pull on Your Leg'.  <_<

There has not been a strong run for AMD in a while now and unless AMD changes their business plan for the future there will be a continued decrease in demand for the lower grade chips they have been producing lately. Intel won't monopolize on this and I know this for a fact as both Intel and NVidia has funded AMD backdoor wise a few times to keep it in business (no I have no links for reference please look it up). AMD has done well in the past and I hope (I hope) they pick up and run even with Intel and NVidia again soon for consistent competitiveness.

From where I sit, it comes as a result of what many see as a lack of innovation. I agree with them, as their current motherboard and CPU platforms are basically dead when it comes to "high end" builds (at least for gaming). Not just for performance and price, but for features. I've not seen a single AMD mobo that has M.2, Sata-E, USB 3.0 (could be wrong there) and for the most part, from what I've seen, most of their mobo's, from an aesthetic perspective, just look OLD (could be good for a retro build).

Then comes the fact that most of their "new gpu's" are complete re-brands/re-badges for the second time in a row now (at least to my knowledge, the only thing new is the Fury).

Please note, I don't really follow AMD news that much because, well, I'm broke, and a new cpu or gpu is out of the question for at least the next 4-6 years. These are just my thoughts based on what I've seen and heard.

Everytime i hear amd rebadges their gpus... Nvidia does the same freaking thing since keppler, as far as i know even maxwell is based on the same 28nm chip, just adjusted drivers and some stuff on the gpu to get a low power consumption.

but it's a progress I don't see on amd cards.

You mean "They usually get locked day 1" ;)

The discussions here are (generally) quite civil, so that's probably why it hasn't died already

Hey you turds

READ MY POST AND POST:

Someone give me benchmarks for proof that intel increases games FPS's as compared to amd chips.

Or a video by linus is fine too  :) Thanks! on the verge of switching to intel ~ ty ty (using fx 6300 atm)

Well that is not very respectful..

Anyways, here you go:

http://nl.hardware.info/reviews/6087/36/amd-vs-intel-57-processors-megatest-benchmarks-gtx-960--980ncivilization-beyond-earth

It's in Dutch, but numbers are a universal language ;) And at the bottom of the page you have more parts of this test (more games).

Here is one of the benchmarks:

9myok5Q.png

As you can see, the i3 CPU beat the FX 8370E CPU.

Damn. It does look their is a noticeable increase in FPS... Hmmm. Not sure if it's worth the 300-400$ upgrade tho.

What do you mean with 300-400 dollars upgrade? If you have an AMD CPU, it should only be around 180 euros/dollars to upgrade to an i3 4160.

And if you are doing a new build, you can get Intel with better gaming performance for the same price.

Heyyo,

Be nice and stop flaming.

Now.. This is what I wanted <3 Thank you!!

You're welcome... but don't be a hypocrite...

Hey you turds

Ya know what I mean? :P

AMD just hasn't impressed me with anything since the early 2000's on the first 1ghz chip race

AMD hasn't released any new and innovative CPUs for years and keep rebranding GPUs whilst Intel is releasing CPU after CPU that are constantly getting better and Nvidia does the same. I really want AMD to do well as I've always liked an underdog but it looks like the decisions that a 5 year old could say are a bad move are sending them to their grave.

I don't stand on hype but on quality of product so;

Pretty much all that. I bought a 3DFX Voodoo 4 PCI with 32MB VRAM a few months before the buyout oops hehe. :P

I can understand for their CPU's mostly, they are just not as good at the moment for gaming.

Their GPU's.. They are really good! But they are rebadging their chips.. Again! I think that caused some more hate

Yeah, but there's no reason to make a new chip other than the fury, fury x, and fury nano.

Tip to those that are new on LTT forum- quote a post so that the person you are quoting gets a notification, otherwise they'll have no idea that you did. You can also use a tag such as @Ryoutarou97 (replace my username with anyone's. You should get a dropdown after you type the "@")to send a notification, but quoting is preferable.

Feel free to PM me about absolutely anything be it tech, math, literature, etc. I'll try my best to help. I'm currently looking for a cheap used build for around $25 to set up as a home server if anyone is selling.

If you are a native speaker please use proper English if you can. Punctuation, capitalization, and spelling are as important to making your message readable as proper night theme formatting is.

My build is fully operational, but won't be posted until after I get a GPU in it and the case arted up.

Actually it has the Athlon 860k and the Pentium beating the 8350 and the 8350 beating the 8370e by one FPS.

I honestly don't see someone replacing an 8350 with an 860k and getting better FPS in games.

Here are two great videos that should also be considered:

Really, I just chose a random benchmark. No cherry picking here.

So it might very well be that Civ Beyond Earth is a game that runs on 2 cores only or something. Meaning this 2-4 strong cores are better than 8 weaker ones..

Fan boys and their insecurities.  However, AMD does recycle a lot of old technology, and unless you're doing content creation or other tasks that will actually utilize the multicores in the modules it isn't worth it.  I don't think it is all hate, but more people buying them for the wrong reasons.

So does intel, and nvidia.
