Hey everyone,

I've been watching LinusTechTips channel for a while now and just decide to join the forums today. I've been interested in computer technology since I was 15 years old. From building my computer at the age of 16 to constantly reading numerous articles on technology till this day, I have gained a lot of knowledge 😜

Hi all,

Feeling a little to old to join in here, but been watching the channel on YT and just had to buy the new desk pad before it went out of stock again!  Such a good price got the size to cover the entire desk and LOVE IT!!!!!!! Recommend!

Awesome quality, awesome graphic,  I feel cooler and hipper now.  Started my computer love punching Hollerith code for IBM mainframe, JES2, all that  old stuff no one renumbers. I often wonder if any one really knows who Dr. Forbin is?

Good evening från Sweden!

 

Been a long time subsciber to LTT, TechLinked, ShortCircuit and one or more of the other channels.

Works with R&D in a small group at one of europes big vehicle manufacurers.

Started at the assembly line in 2016 and became a Team leader som years after and got headhunted to this department about 8 months ago. 

Primarily im doing CAD drawing and prototyping with Additive manufacturing (3D-printing...)

Does some programming in VSC (mostly Python) and Arduino, primarily for vision systems, although we have som really good programmers and i really bad, but learning... 😄

 

At work i run a HP Zbook 17" Workstation with i7-10850, 32GB ram and Nvidia Quadro (don't remember the model), some more och less collaboative Rasperry Pi's, Jetson Nanos and Iphone SE 2020.

 

At home i run a much more modest setup, an old (2013 i think?), used enterprise Fujitsu Esprimo C720, i5 4570, 16 GB ram, Nvidia GT1030. But it holds up quite well, i run the same CAD program on that one as on the one at work. Use a Anycubic Resin 3d-Printer at home.

I also have a used enterprise laptop, Fujitsu Lifebook S935, i5 5300U, 8 GB of ram. I newly installed Pop OS on that one but have run in to some driver issues, which is part of why i'm here.

Hello everyone!

 

A long long time ago, I was an enthusiastic PC and PC Gamer guy...then it happened.....the fruit machine got me in the mid 2000's and consoles found their way under the tv...

 

However, in the last few years LTT relit the fire and last year I built my latest Gaming PC, the first in about 16 years!! 

 

Totally in love with it again and Sim Racing is my poison of choice!

 

I will probably be picking your brains soon :D

So apparently i joined in 2016 and then did nothing with my account (or there was a great purge!). Always a fan, tech enthusiast and IT 'Professional' (i.e. i get paid to do computer stuff, but not certified or educated). So i thought i should try to feed back to the community (and also hunt down a GPU at MSRP).

Hey all, long time viewer, first time forumer. Joined here after hearing a mention about antikythera devices in the recent video on the Friden STW10. A colleague of mine reverse engineered the design and built a working replica over the past few years. Let me know if you're interested in it. He has even released the drawings / build instructions if you want to build your own (and are incredibly patient!)

G'day All from Australia, just joined, and a fan of Linus Tech Tips, During the pandemic I started to binge watch more though, and gotta say, hailing from the 90's I really enjoy his older videos too. Especially where he goes through the Horder's Home, that was really amazing to see all those vintage PC's brought me a tear to my eye's. I really would like to make some friends here, especially those who use Mac, as I love my Apple. I also love Windows, but a big Mac fan. Especially with MacBook 🙂 nice to meet you all. One day if the pandemic mysteriously disappears, I hope that Linus could maybe talk at a talk show in Australia, That would be epic. I also forgot to mention, I am currently studying writing scripts as maybe to one day to make my own TV show 🙂

Lmao, I've been a member of this forum for ages and only now realized I've never made a post in our introduction thread.

 

I've watched LTT since whenever the HD5000 series was current - I've experienced so much life since then, good and bad, and am totally a different person now than the version of me that created this account in November 2013. One thing that's very refreshing though is throughout all of that, the existence of LTT has been a constant. An always-available source of comfort and familiarity, in addition to all else they strive to achieve with their content. 

 

I hope to be more active around here. This and GTPlanet are the last two forums I pay much attention to these days.
