Lol, I fly overseas a lot, bought loads of electronics in the US and I've never had my bags checked. Import duties you'll only need to pay if you declare the goods :P That being said, I never buy computer hardware because it's pretty much impossible to RMA a bad card when you do that. And I've had to do that many times...

I'm so pissed right now, was gonna get myself a 980Ti too but the price's are ridiculous.

The 780Ti was ~650€ when it launched, and now they want me to pay >750€ (reference model! custom coolers are around 800-900) and they don't even drop the 980 price?

I ask this in all honesty Nvidia: are you retarded?

Looks like AMD is the way to go this time.

Euro is much weaker than 1 year ago.

$499 for a GTX 980 still feels like highway robbery. 52% more expensive than a GTX 970 that is 13% less powerful on average at stock clocks at 1440p while the 980 Ti is 25% more powerful than the GTX 980 at 1440p at a 30% higher price. I'm with Linus that the only enthusiast Nvidia GPUs that make much sense for most gamers are the 970 and 980 Ti.

This basically means that you only should buy the 970 or the 980 ti.

 

The 980 got killed by the 970 and the 980ti and the Titan X got killed by the 980ti. The only reason why you should get a 980 is with a sweet deal when the price is very close to the 970.

Nvidia knows AMD has pitiful margins and are forcing their hand. It is cutthroat business as far as business goes. AMD HAS to be cheaper to get the sales they want, cause no one is going to fork over a premium when a 500 dollar 980 and 650 dollar 980 Ti exist. 

 

Nvidia doesn't care that their margins go down, they know AMDs will have to drop even more to stay competitive. 

They will if the price justifies the performance advantage. If Fiji comes out of the gate like a raped ape no one is going to hesitate to pay the $749 for one. That's like saying no one is going to pay the $999 for the TITAN X because the GTX 980 exists for only $550. If Fiji pushes ~12% above the TITAN X at $749 no one is going to pay the $650 for the GTX 980 Ti unless they are loyal to that brand. People buying these cards don't really have a price limit and want only one thing, the fastest card possible.

Just try to find fake refurbished products. A lot of e-shop in EU sells those products at much lower price then the recommended ones. My 970 G1 did cost me 330€ with an asic score of 73%, if I were to buy it in a Belgian store it would cost me 429€ (I am serious)

Definately AMD next purchase they always had close prices to US ones, Nvidia always unreal prices, its impossible 3599 LEI in Romania what a joke thats around 880$.

I get it a bit more expensive in the EU but thats almost motherucking double price from 500$, id give up on PC's they are killing the market.

Man i love living in Europe, actually thought about just getting a 980 to upgrade from my 770 2gb, but now i might aswell get a 980 ti, they basicly at this point cost the same, makes absolutely no sense in any way. 980 TI currently listed at 900$ .. 980 at around 750-800..

PS: austria is introducing a new "fee" for any storage media and printers + scanners. It means that we Austrians have to pay 6% more on the already ridiculous storage media prices lol.
