so a group of death knights only (no healers) were able to kill the current content end boss at the second level of difficulty.

kind of insane.

"Normandy" i7 4790K - GTX 970 - Phantom 410 (Gun metal) - Z97 Extreme4 (asrock) - 128GB Crucial SSD - 1TB WD HDD - H60 Refurb. - 7 case fans | G710+ Keyboard, G230 Headset, Acer GN246HL Monitor.

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.

What the heck is this about?

Essentially 10 people all playing the same Class; Death Knights in WoW managed to take down the current final boss in the game on the second highest difficulty.

You usually need a full group( 10-30 people ) of tanks, healers, and damage dealers to cope with all the mechanics, and even try to defeat him. Many guilds have not even gotten that far.

Here 10 of the most elite Death Knight players all went as Tanks ( role that does little damage, but takes one hell of a beating ), and took down the boss.

The players in question though, were completely decked out in the best armour and weapons currently available from a much higher difficulty though, and they've been known in the past to do similar amazing feats of strength.

Blood DKs :P Their ability to self heal is very powerful. So they probably just tank swapped and healed up when they took a beating.

Haven't played much since cata. If DKs still play the way they did than, than I'd believe it. DKs are a very active class. I'd say they're the most skill oriented class of all of them, and can range from "horrible" to "completely OP"

I remember off tanking in all Heroic Dungeon gear in that Firelands raid and frequently having to pick up the MT Pally in all raid gears slack because he couldn't hold aggro and kept dying. (back then Pallys were more of a "face roll' class. Hard to mess it up)

I didn't die once.

As much as I love WoW and even though this is pretty cool and It makes me want to go back, does this count as "Tech News"?

Shouldn't this be in the "PC Games" Category?

Weren't they always OP to begin with ?

Haven't been for years. At the moment when it comes to raiding, they're average at best. At Mythic level raiding you'd be hardpressed to see any that are not a tank at all.

Ah ok, I didn't play much after ... ermm ... what was that expansion that came after TBC again?

In my days they were horribly OP.

Wrath of the Lich King*

Yeah, I miss Frost tanking. Mitigation over HoT is more my style.

I raid as unholy and there's very little healing we can do bar a lovely Death Pact or a Death Strike proc.

Blood has more healing by far, but as a main tank spec it's expected.

litchborne + 2 death coil = full health as unholy.

deathknights as a whole have alot of things that can save them ie switching stances, amz, ams, purgatory, death strike, conversion, death pact, death syphon.

and if a dk is fighting multiple targets with plague leach these abilities can be used pretty frequently.

Lichborne only gives +10% leech. Considering Death Coil deals a base damage of 24656, two of them will not heal a 300K plus Death Knight. Two Death Coils even when glyphed barely heals, and only shrouds and ally in a shield that absorbs 6226 damage. Considering people have well over 300k HP, that's miniscule.

Conversion is useless now, it takes 20 runic power to only heal for 2% per second, Death Syphon is terrible for PvE, and near useless for PvP unless you're a Blood Deathknight that can handle the sheer burst damage in arena and has Vampiric Blood that can boost all healing effects.

Death Pact is good for once use before it absorbs all other heals equal to 25% of max health for 15 seconds.

Also the rest are damage mitigation, which all classes but warriors excel it, it's also not healing. Purgatory is also not healing in the slightest, and it takes almost a healers main cooldown to save you in a raid. In PvP if it pops, you're dead either way as we don't have massive burst self heals but ole Death Pact.

Also any unholy DK that's using Plague Leech in raiding is doing it very wrong and will be doing up to 15K DPS lower than a normal Unholy one due to the Necroblight playstyle and rotation.
