Well the fact that everything I tried posting got deleted, despite autosaving, and the cried of various goverments going "we don't monitor forum postings"....Yes it's OTT, but honestly. Does anyone actually expect their goverment to not monitor their internet traffic? The fact that they can't introduce such data in court doesn't stop them. they merely use such data as a introduction to deeper, more expensive data mining.

 

We can't use evidence A as part of tthis brief, but we can use it as part of our breach of certain civil liberties to gain evidence piece B....

 

I ask about naiviete, because every part of american civil liberities has been proven to be breached by American "blacksites" If Australian David Hicks is allowed to prosecute wrongful imprisonment, within the legal system. Nobody will ever be tried for guantanamo bay.

 

It isn't in the international communities best interest to have a court case based on certain american interests based in cuba....

 

Anything that might have happened will be explained to the participants in terms of take the deal, or die....Or get a lawyer that will get buried so far under the legal system that you won't see daylight for a decade. (actually the decades up, hicks has been released....might be interesting)

 

Terrorism? Isn't assange up on child pornography charges? no evidence, but America is trying to deport based on the unsubstantiated charges? Fuck off.

 

Certain intelligence operatives got caught with their panties in a knot. Does anybody actually expect American intelligence apparatus to actually disseminate actual information at this point?

We had a politician over here, was front man for midnight Oil (look it up) He started out in the anti nuclear party, figured it and the greens weren't going anywhere, and signed up for the libs... nobody actually expects anything to get done in Parliament without a certain amount of horsetrading.

Are you crazy China? Trying to rate human beings in a somehow criterian and objective way. Do they really think they can pull that off? No fucking way. The criterians they use are most definitely extremely subjective and can only lead to misjudging people.The only thing they will do is ostracize people from the rest of the society based on what they would like people to be. I truely hope that international instances will invest themselves in corecting this situation because this is definitely not ok. To me, this looks like a Super Soldier project with the only differences being that this program is designed for an entire nation and thats is not made for military purposes

Relevance: Not really relevant to anyone in the Americas/Europe, but more countries could follow suit into this kind of system. If you think Windows 10 tracking is bad... imagine this..

Personal Opinion: I'm going to begin by saying that I don't know much about current Chinese societal norms, and the amount of mutual trust in society. I think parking tickets and anything related to the financial reliability of a person that can be objectively measured could be taken by independent agencies, such as how western societies have credit scores. I'm not sure about flaunting these scores or using it as a basis for dating and/or social interactions between friends that does not involve financial transactions. However, consumption patterns tied down to a nationally organized citizen ID seems to be taking it a bit too far. In terms of extra scrutiny for certain professions, some companies in western countries check credit scores too, but this score is much more comprehensive than simply financial reliability.

True, but here you can voluntarily not disclose information. An HR person I used to know told me that when they check for Facebook and social media, they are content if you can hide your profile well (not public, no search engine access, etc...), so even if you post 3AM drunk pictures, no one other than your friends can see it anyways.
