I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Video editing in final cut pro.

Software development (this is a big one)

Maybe you get it just for MacOS if you prefer it (as some people do)

But power isn't what always matters... Final Cut Pro. Unix and XCode for software development. You can't beat that without using MacOS.

 

And not everything does. Look at Core M ultrabooks. Look at the Surface Book. Look at the XPS 13.

We always have the people who skips a few columns in order to see the whole text... Like there is no way one can resize a column. So there was this guy, who didn't want to learn this "trick", so every time he called for me I was like: You bloody idiot, if you're gonna have empty columns in your sheet, I swear to god I'll make you stand in between those columns.

This got hilarious after a bit.

Well if you want software development, just get a cheaper windows laptop that can run stuff like Unix and other software dev stuff well. It'll cost a lot less than a mac

Well if apple wasn't anti consumer and didn't lock away their dev programs behind their OS, that wouldn't be a problem. Although don't get me wrong, Windows has its fair share of BS, but at least you have a bit more freedom in terms of compatibility and being able to develop for other platforms.

Yeah ik but you can't deal with it, making macs a better buy for devs. There's a reason most devs use a mac.

Na, probably Linux since you can run stuff more easily on a UNIX based OS.

 

Google actually uses a custom Linux OS for their developers (mostly).

Hmm most likely now that I think about it. Plus Linux is light on the system, so that'd help. Being Unix based would be a huge appeal. Ah, linux, the advantages you present. i remember my old P4+6600 that got me about 5fps on lowest setting back in beta 1.6...

I played on a p4e (478 socket though) and it got me ~35 fps at I think almost lowest settings

 

then I got a i5 and ayy 200+ fps while hosting tekkit servers :D (1.2.5 days)
