And then they realize the retina 13" have 2560x1600 screens and the new iMacs have either 4k or 5k ones and that their s7 has a 1440p screen not to mention it's not as true a 1440p as the macs since it's pentile.

If you're not using it for gaming an iGPU is enough, and I wouldn't say it's the only thing that's good. The trackpads on macs are among the best if not the best out there, build quality is great, and actually if you compare it to other premium windows notebooks in similar price brackets the MBP 13" is actually more powerful (compare to an XPS 13 or surface book, the macs use 28w cpus with iris pro iGPUs whereas XPS 13 and surface book use 15w cpus with normal hd graphics).

 

And I wouldn't say the screen is the one "good" thing, I would say it's amazing. I've seen the screen on the 2016 MBP and I'd say it's hands down the best display I've personally ever seen. I've seen XPS 13s, 15s, and surface books so I'm not saying this lightly. The colors really pop.

 

Macs aren't all pieces of crap. Some are, but not all.

I work in an HR company, in the IT department (I make our websites and develop new systems). People call me to insert a column in a google spreadsheet drive...

Also they tell me that their pcs are bad and something is always wrong with it. me: You are wrong with it.

Imho all of them are pretty trash m9. What they charge $1200 for is ridiculous. I could make something that would wreck a mac for ~$700. Yeah, the screen's nice, but you could make a build with a true 4k monitor for way less. And as for the build quality, I find it very eh. It's certainly not bad, but I find them to seem a little flimsy. But that's just more of a feel factor.

only reason why i would consider a macbook pro

1. build quality is great

2. macOS is superior to windows for my laptop needs ($1700 chromebook basically)

3. fucking great gestures (again, $1700 chromebook for browsing the web)

4. .. did i mention it has a great display? .. for web browsing

 

but realistically, ill just be buying some used laptop from ebay with IPS 1080p screen, i dont give a shit about specs since i'll just install lubuntu or some shit with chromium and use it for web browsing (i have a spare ssd for that too)

 

 

today, someone in my class bluffed that he was going to get a $2500 pc

with a core i5.

other than that, its great (for my usage; web browsing)

who the fuck needs a 6950x to browse facebook? not me..

 

but if i wanted to do anything productive, i would be doing it on my desktop

gaming, typing out homework.. etc

casual stuff like ltt/youtube, ill do it on a laptop over my desktop because i can do it while im in bed.
