Is a new modem that expensive to buy?

I'd think having that 100 down plan would be better even if you'd need a new modem.

It's more about the overall investment.  I already bought and paid for a DOCSIS 3.0 modem a little over two years ago with the expectation of that investment lasting a while.  So buying a new modem and getting rid of the old one is unattractive to me.  Also, being the only occupant of this apartment, with a server that handles downloads from Usenet and BitTorrent 24/7, my bandwidth demands are pretty spread out over the day, 30mbit has done me pretty fine for now without it often feeling 'critically slow'.  The only reason 60mbit is really attractive is because with this recent CRTC decision, the prices are dropping so I can get more for 'less' than I've been paying before.

100mbit is certainly better, but on 60mbit for now it was just a phone call and the job is done.  Also cause I splurged some $2500 out of my savings between Black Friday and New Years, so I'd like to reign it in a bit and recharge the savings account. :P

I have all the drives already. The 1080 isn't final yet, it may change to a Fury X for encoding via GPU. It is a Cosplayer I don't remeber her name, but I love everything she has done for Spice and Wolf so far.

Splurging is fun.  ?

But saving money is nice too I suppose.  ?

I'm really tempted to get a Razer blade or a different thunderbolt 3 laptop to use with a Razer Core but idk if I could justify the cost.  Though I do have a 4GB GTX 960 I could use with it for now so that would lower the total I'd need to spend.

Is a Fury X more powerful than a 1080?

Awesome.  If you ever remember her name please let me know.  I'd love to see more of her cosplays.

Dpending on what your doing compute and encoding wise, the Fury X could do circles around the 1080

It's ridiculous how every schoolboy knows how to play soccer, or tennis, or hockey. Hell, even football. But no one knows how to play chess., an actual intellectual exercise (just like education is supposed to be)

What if I don't know how to play those either /s

Well okay, I know how to play Soccer and floor Hockey (and indoor Volleyball)

Well how education is from what I've experienced is uninteresting and not inspiring. It's sorta numbing and boring.

I sort of know how to play chess not very well. Checkers is a bit easier and that too I sort of know how to play.

To me 'casual' sounds easier than 'easy', but it's in the middle so is it the 'normal' difficulty!?

This is worse than the portion sizing at Starbucks!  I ask for a 'Large' and the barista looks at me like I must be illiterate or something!

Checkers is too luck-based for my taste

Arguably there's still some strategy used in it, not as much as chess as you need to think your moves a bit more in chess than you do in checkers but to me it seems more enjoyable than chess.
