I've heard that too. It might also have to do with how much more information we have to cram in our brains compared to many less developed countries as well. We stress ourselves out so much trying to get ahead and stay ahead of everyone else that it does seriously affect our health.

I personally haven't had any family members with Alzheimer's, but my grandpa has Parkinson's, another degenerative disease. His memory's becoming increasingly flaky, to the point where he can't remember something he said an hour ago (thankfully he still has his WWII memories!), he's wheelchair-bound as he can no longer support his own weight and it's either gonna be that or old age that eventually gets him.

I've already expressed this several times, but I'm not ready to lose him. I've had all my life to prepare for this and... I'm just...

Well I've heard that red meat can increase the chance of Alzheimer's. Fortunately in my family, I'm not aware of anyone having it. My great grandma is going to be 86 this month I believe and still going strong for the most part. I mean aside from heart issues mainly afib and fluid retention.

I guess two parts of it involves the luck of good genetics and body chemistry.

I have heard that regular brain exercises help prevent Alzheimer's.

I wonder if watching too much tv would be a factor?  After all, your brain is more active during sleep then watching tv.

My 12 year old Microsoft mouse was well past it's prime and they stopped making it.  Solution: Buy a new one on eBay even if it's a slightly different in color.  Because change is bad!

Yikes the old grey one has do much ware on it.

It's mostly genetics that play a role. I'm not ruling out diet, but those without a family history tend to not show signs.

There's no real evidence to suggest it really helps all that much. Besides, TV is a very generalised thing and can include fun things like grand designs and documentaries.

My personal guidelines is that people are free to believe or disbelieve and free to wear or not wear whatever they want as long as it doesn’t spill deleteriously to me and other people.

So if I’m in a beach I better not hear anyone saying to wear a shirt and pants and if I’m at work especially in an office, I better not see anyone walking ass naked while operating the Xerox machine.

I can't read minds, but if I were to guess, I would say that the way you act bothered them, and thus they tried to guilt trip you into behaving differently.

Even if I am wrong, fuck em.  As long as you are not harming anyone, you should be able to act however you want.

I'm eager to see Conservative Australian's lose their shit over this...

Oh I love news article comments sometimes...

Quote

Since only 78% voted this is not a mandate. Only around 45% of people in the country voted 'yes'.

Quote

Australian Voters did not say yes.   Less than 50% of eligible voters said yes  (ie, 7.8 million out of 16 million)).  That does not give a mandate for changing the Marriage Act

Ya know, if we flip that math around then only 29% or so of Australian's voted 'No'.  So, maaaaaaybe not the best angle to take.  I'm sure someone will argue that a 'silent majority' would have surely voted no it's just that they were afraid to fill out a form that came to their homes by mail, that they would then be mailed away, and no one would see how you voted unless you told them.
