Speaking of kitchen things, we finally got the new countertop installed!

 

 

Now we just need to:
 

• Finish painting the walls
• Get the wiring redone
• Get the plumbing for the new sink done
• Finish installing the doors and cabinets
• Get the overhead fan thingy moved to the new right spot
• Secure the dishwasher in place

It's gonna be a while before we're done, but at least we finally got this done.

I watched all of It's the Pied Piper, Charlie Brown and it's very... uhm, strange? I dunno how to describe it.

The animation is quite inconsistent, for starters. I'm assuming that it was rendered at 30fps (or 29.97fps, rather) so some things seem to be animated in threes and others in twos. And you have scaling problems all throughout. Oh, and you get strange things like this:

The plot itself is a little convoluted but more than simple enough to follow, but I don't really understand the end when Snoopy does this for little reason:

 

Oh well, it's a nice collectable, at least. And it came complete, voucher for a free Paramount DVD and all!

It's soapstone! We hired a contractor all the way from upstate New York (but close to the Vermont border) to fabricate the countertop out of soapstone fresh from a quarry in Vermont.

ah  Personally I like any dark stone counter tops  They just look so much more beautiful then anything else.

Speaking of love interests who are chefs, my younger older sister (yes, that makes sense) said at a party over in Falmouth that she got a new boyfriend, and her boyfriend is a professional chef. So, she'd be like, "Hey, can you get me this?" and he'd go "Alright, let's start with some olive oil, and then you..."

 

Truth be told I'd imagine that's what it's like for the families of a lot of chefs.

I can't cook worth a shit because I don't have the patience. I buy already made food from the deli at my work or those sodium packed frozen dinners. I still wish she could teach me how to cook. A mutual friend tells me she makes Romanian food to die for. Sounds extra right since she's from Romania. 

 

And my folks want me in charge of this year's Thanksgiving dinner. Wtf? The smoke detectors better be functional...or else I'm going to be in the local news.

One Thanksgiving year I volunteered to make artichoke dip. It was gone by the end of the dinner. I cheated though and used Alton Brown's recipe.

I'm really into French and German cuisine. Julia Child is basically my role model for ... everything. I did a brief student exchange to Germany in my misspent youth, and absolutely fell in love with the food. Mostly I like to experiment with new dishes and techniques whenever I can.
