Can you tell me about 2?    It's something to talk about.  ?

Honestly, I feel that any patriotic American willing to serve our country should be able to serve, provided they meet the fitness requirements set out by the army.

If it's really too much of a financial burden on the military, then just let them get private insurance to cover the costs of their transition! Outright banning them from serving is wholly unfair and, frankly, Trump has disgraced every man and woman who willingly put their lives on the line to keep us safe with this decision.

Can he actually do this by himself?    Says trans people can't serve seems like something he shouldn't just be able to enact singlehandedly.

He spoke with military leaders beforehand.

Yes, he said so in his first tweet.

He's not smart.  We elected a person who I am certain doesn't have a normal intelligence level.

I wasn't complimenting his intelligence :P Just commenting that he played his campaign surprisingly smartly.

Don't worry Americans, I'm 100% sure that this is the last thing against LGBT Americans that the Trump administration will ever do.  Totally sure.  Tremendously sure.  Beautifully sure.

Hence why it's "surprising". Wasn't really hard at all, though, Clinton did not play her campaign well at all. She barely focused on the issues, her attempts at appealing to millennials were cringeworthy at best and she barely paid attention to states she was polling poorly in (namely Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin and Michigan).

It'll get overturned in the court. It's unconstitutional, especially the way how Trump decided to take lawmaking to Twitter.

Tbh, the Pentagon spends more money on Viagra [Sildenafil Citrate] for men than it is on trans people's medical needs so I don't if Trump's head is still inside his ass. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2017/07/26/the-military-spends-five-times-as-much-on-viagra-as-it-would-on-transgender-troops-medical-care/?tid=pm_pop

Even John McCain rebuked him.

i hate the Donald as much as the next guy, but he did NOT ban transgender people from enlisting in the military.

Transgender have never been allowed in. this isnt new. im not saying there arent currently transgender people currently enlisted, but ill bet my left nut that they never would have been allowed through MEPS(Military Entrance Processing Station) had they explicitly stated they were trans. that and even if they were allowed it, they would probably be considered undeployable.

Hopefully this changes one day, but nothing new has actually happened.

let bash trump for the shit he has actually done, not the ones he hasnt.

EDIT: disregard. i redid my research.

in my search to find the actual military code of conduct to disprove you, i found something else that i was not aware of, as it was implimented after i was no longer enlisted.

https://www.defense.gov/Portals/1/features/2016/0616_policy/Transgender-Implementation-Fact-Sheet.pdf

as of October 2016 transgender people are in fact allowed in the military.

Quote
Otherwise qualified Service members can no longer be involuntarily separated,
discharged, or denied reenlistment or continuation of service solely for being transgender
individuals.

Right, and based on the Pentagon's response, Trump did not go through the process of pushing policy through the Pentagon before announcing this.

Even John McCain? While John McCain might not be the loudest of Trumps opponents in the Republican party he has rebuked him quite a number of times, it's just that Trump seems to have an excessively high opinion of McCain compared to any of his other opponents.

Then again that may that some secretary has advised Trump to do that so that people will forget that McCain does not seem to like Trump at all.

Definitely don't agree with it. "a return to warrior culture" lol try being Trans for a few years and tell me again we don't have a warrior mentality. Total bullshit. I know many Trans veterans, the population is bigger than we think. They're amazing, strong, powerful people.

Equating people with gender dysphoria and people in the military as being on equal planes when it comes to issues is ridiculous. The military should be as strong as possible, that means no one, NO ONE with any kind of mental illness or physical illness should be allowed into the military.

My boyfriend was discharged for depression after while going through Navy training, his mental state made it too cost worthy and too dangerous for him to remain in service. It was a knock for him, but he understood, though he's a huge American patriot, he knew it was best for him to leave and then go down another life path. Is that "depressionphobia"? Or is that just making sure that the military is a strong and cost effective force?

When you need therapy and help to come to terms with your gender dysphoria and mental state of not "identifying" with your biological sex, it will cost money, not to mention any physical surgeries you need to go through and all the hormones one may take in order to live a comfortable life in the end. It's not cost effective and it can cause cracks in the wall that is the military. Much like how other mental illnesses and physical illnesses do.

I found your comment to be this Twitter meme in a nutshell.
