Back then it was buggy as hell and really wasn't even that great of an ereader. The screen's low resolution and its short battery longevity basically made it terrible to use for a long time (my opinion) and after a few months you couldn't use it for very long anyway.

Hmmm..  I checked and I think my Kindle Fire is a 2014 model that I purchased in February 2015 so I guess they must have improved it by then.

 

I still like my iPad Air better though.  ?

 

That's too bad your Fire wasn't a good experience for you.

On my first build, I bought a Truex 7200 cd drive. It was being applauded by all the tech sites because of it's outstanding specs etc. It was so loud my neighbor complained. Even though my PC was sitting on the floor under my desk (not touching it), it vibrated my desk so bad my monitor (big old crt) would jiggle. I RMA'd it twice. They were all the same. The 3rd one kept locking up so I had to manually eject the cd. It is the only item of any kind that I ever took out onto the back patio, and beat to death with a hammer (when I have a failed component I usually will cut it open to see "whats in the box", how does it work. Not that one. I flattened it. My girlfriend got frightened because she had never seen me act that way before. I'm normally very calm, and low key. I'll never forget that turkey.

 

Last build purchased the HyperX Cloud Revolver Pro Gaming headset. The mic sounds great, but the headphones sound like everything is coming through a big metal pipe. I probably spent a good 20hrs, with the help of online friends, trying to tweak it and make it sound good, but failed. When people were talking I could only understand about one in five words. It's been in a box in the closet ever since. Ugh! Wasn't cheap either.

Best Excuses:

        #1(simple) "Well, I never liked that stupid thing anyway!"

        #2(complex) "Obviously there was a flaw in the material, probably due to the inadvertent introduction of contaminants during the manufacturing process."

My rgb led light kit for my wife's 50 gallon salt water tank. Oh and it connects to accuweather to mimic the weather conditions outside. Its a nice light but wasn't needed....as she decided to not have coral in her tank. Instead it's a species only tank with just live rock and her psychedelic mantis shrimp.

GTX970 SSC - Great card but couldn't get anything over the stock frequency to be stable at all

 

i7-4770k - People say AMD cpu's run hot. They've got nothing on this pos. Sold it and went to a Devil's Canyon i5 instead. Well worth it.

I cheaped out on my 1070 as well, but I got the EVGA FTW DT model.  Flashed to the FTW (non-DT) FW just fine, am even able to overclock it a bit above the FTW overclock as well.  Ended up buying 2 more and flashed those without any issues either.  

 

Anyways, now on to some regrets...  The two biggest ones I can think of are the Diamond Edge 3D card that had like no compatible games except a couple from SEGA.  And Then the Ouya, which also suffered the same fate of not really having many games.

paid $20 for a 8800GT last year 

the case that my Linux miner is currently in, got my money back for it, but i still feel scammed seeing as there is nowhere to mound a harddrive 

 

most other worse tech buys i have either gotten good experience from or had enough fun with to make up for the shitty deal, now i tend to just get pretty great deals instead, like an I7 2600, motherboard, RAM and cooler for $50 :D 

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

There's ALWAYS somewhere to mount a hard drive as long as it's an SSD and you have some double sided tape!

same with my 970 G1, the second it reaches 60C with any overclock, even 1MHz, it crashes. even with a beefy 4 slot cooler it still overclocks like garbage

m80 i cant afford SSDs for my random builds, i have a bunch of 1TB HDDs laying about though that i CAN spare, currently its just kinda sitting at the bottom of the case

il be keeping mine to do some mining but il be replaceing it soon with a 1080 or equivlent Vega card :D
