remember the good old days. ( 2005 gaming pc build page $500)

Jasfe

This page shows how to build a $500 gaming pc in 2005. Its so funny to hear these things. My personal favorite is at page 5 where it states " games are becoming more ram Hungary. Games such as battlefield 2 are seeing the benefit of 2GB of ram. xD 2gb..

Anyway heres a link to the article http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/The-500-Gaming-Machine,1147-5.html

Nice!

512 was definately the budget level then. I opted for 1gb.

Although an Athlon64 system with 512mb ram can still be useful for media playback as long as it's paired with a video card that support hardware acceleration.

Ohhhh man that AGP connector though! I remember being like 12 years old trying to swap out graphics cards and having trouble with that vs PCI

That is nothing. I have ads for prebuilts of mid-90s and early 00s. Those are funny. Plus if you read magazine reviews and articles from 90s.

HAHAHAHAHAHAH "However, initially setting this rig up with 512 MB provides adequate memory that is inside our budget of $500." YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO CALL THAT A "RIG"

OFF TOPIC: I suggest every poll from now on to have "**CK EA" option instead of "Other"

2001-2GB of SDRAM, and my motherboard wasn't in a server (dual socket mobo that overclocks? why waste its potential in a server).
