What if linus had an office where you could walk in?

Bajantechnician

Not really bothered

It would interfere with their work too much

Linus is a great source of information, but he is not god, and all of his advice and opinions are his own, I have often disagreed with him on stuff but I value his opinion

I think LTT should focus on what they want to do and what they do best, and not just become a glorified place of us to request him to do everything

What would you do if linus had a office where you could walk in and request videos or custom builds? You know those places like HR Block, but instead of taxes, it's linustech.... :)

@LinusTech

I would wish him luck, but I'm not going to drive to Canada to request a video.

There's a thread on here for that.

Plus, he'd most likely need a license to open a business to the public.

The projects never end in my line of work.

Not really for requests... It would be more suited for things like business deals and such

It would be too far away for me (Canada, eh? That's far..)

Also, it would be weird.. It's still a place for work and Quadro's on the ground at the stairs :P

If he did, then his office would quickly fill up with LTT hobos. I can picture it now, 12 year-old runaways covered in rags huddled outside clutching their keyboards with a death grip.

It would be cool if you could go meet the crew and watch how they make videos like from outside the film room look in the window but i don't think having requests would be a good idea nor would i want to anyway.

Pretty much what I would say. I don't think it'll be generally open to the public. Maybe he could have such a thing on his birthday in August where lots of people are out for the summer and can maybe find the time to drive by.

He might've accidentally double posted. I've done that before where it said "the server is unable to process your request" so I assumed it didn't go through. Well it did and I managed to post it twice

I feel like this is same as with people asking them to come to chat in TS3 or something. If they'd had open desk for requests, commenting etc. it would have separed personel to do that work. You'd still need to book time to see big guys. And most likely need really good reason for it too. Otherwise they would be talking and not making videos.

what if he hired people who "man" the store, and he would arrive if serious offers and such happened.... :)

If he did, then his office would quickly fill up with LTT hobos. I can picture it now, 12 year-old runaways covered in rags huddled outside clutching their keyboards with a death grip.

muggin people with hard drive hatchets....

If there was, I definitely would NOT go in there. Linus would probably assault me and touch my Ipod without permission.

I'm telling the truth! I AM a 12 year old girl!
