LOL that is exactly what I thought of when I wrote it haha :lol: Those weren't even believable numbers! I mean 6 core, 1.165V, 95W, 20nm, 3MB L2!

and AMD all in the same title.

Geez I hope zen turns out to be competitive and has a solid platform underneath it. Even the APU stuff gets exciting when considering DDR4 bandwidth and loss-less compression will be available. Let's hope the new DDR4 memory controllers don't perform like the tests you did with FX, that was shocking :o

8320 looks so good in multi core then it get slapped in the face on single. So sad, I would run AMD if they could fix that.

Why so slow on the fx8? at that speed you'd think it was haswell...

They're not that good anymore with all the different FX bins :/

ermm i just got one (my current one) that does 4.5 on 1.3v (1.256 under stress) and still goes to 4.7 same as my old one, im guessing its down to the board, fx4350 turbo's up to 4.3 on the same architecture.

what voltages and board did you use? most on the cinebench list are well past 4.3 so you must be unlucky or not pushing it.

i'd give you any other data if you wanted it. if you had a 3.9ghz 4690k would that still be relevant because i see hardly any at 4.7

I can push it more but then it'd be unstable in my gaming tests so somewhat counterproductive. It was at 1.325V, to get 4.4GHz+ stable 1.4v+ is required.

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

intel sells one but its 3.65x more expensive because intel...

because it doesn't do 4.5 very well, module #3 is a poo, which is why I got 4.5/4.7 from the same chip (im just disabling cores) for the 6300/4300, at least that way you can see the effect of  clock speed vs core count on fx cpus in gaming ;)

not many were sold and now they aren't sold they're still silly expensive, like x58 boards :P
