What first car should I get?

terrytek

I have, because  Ican't seem to get a insurance quote for the Mazdaspeed 6. I might get a MS Miata instead.

At that point might as well get a GSR teggy

Miata ftw

But then it is a chick's car, so... Either MSP or the MSM.

I actually like this MSP. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/4818559204.html At least it's one color. 140K done, but that's nothing compared to the 230K Protege we have at home.

Not my thing.

BTW, do you have any mileage preferences? I just went to Craigslist San Fran and put in a budget of 8k, title, image and went hunting.

Meh, I personally wouldnt care about that, the miata is one of the best bang 4 buck cars out there (say the experts, in terms of "fun factor") and miatas have a huuuuge community behind them so tuning (if you will do it) will be easy and not hard to do/find the parts

I'd get something a bit cheaper if going bone stock, so you have some money left over to do what you want with it

Also I'm pretty sure I4 Escape and Mazda3 have the same engine

Go drive one, then report back :) Any car with decent handling that you can wring out is so much fun.

Granted you'll get passed by everything, but you'll have a blast doing it. (Srsly, the BRZ is the same way. It's the slowest thing I've owned in my adult life, and still just as much fun as some of the fastest things I've had)

That's what I thought. But maybe for that price I can get something with a few mods, like intake mods, tasteful mods, etc.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Subaru BRZ/Scion FRS. Does it matter which one I get?

FRS is more fun to drive (stiffer suspension, less intrusive TCS), BRZ is a better daily driver and comes with more features.

Why on earth would anyone pay that much for that car when for $250 more you can get this http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/4819467077.html

I like this onehttp://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/4820601669.html but he's asking 10 and a half grand.

I will consider the FRS as well. I still think it's a proper sports car, unlike the mostly technical supercars nowadays.
