Where to send people to buy Minecraft?

I want to get Minecraft for Christmas, but I do not know where to send them to buy it for me. And I don't even know how it would work if they got it for me (like how to activate the game, since I'm assuming it's a gift card or something.

minecraft site allows to buy the game as a gift, never tried it myself but i assume they sent you a key or something through email

If you end up getting MC then also check out this http://www.feed-the-beast.com/. Its MC with a lot of extra stuff. All you need is a MC account witch you make as you get MC.
