Lol 1440p will not be the next standard!! i promise you! it will be 4k!!!

this is meh if people want to buy a 1440p monitor now i think thats a dumb decision but there choice 4k is the new standard whether u like it or not.

It will be another 4 years before we have both monitors and graphics cards capable of driving 4K at good color and frame rates for the price needed for 1440p right now. 4K is a ways off for all but the most wealthy enthusiasts.

edit: just realized this was a nerco'ed thread, but you're still far overestimating 4K adoption speeds.

I like the progress, but I'm still waiting for the holy grail of monitors.

27", 1440p, 144 Hz, IPS (or OLED), <5ms, g-sync + normal video scaler (for more I/O than just 1 DP), with no glossy plastic crap and a visa mount.

A nice stand with all range of functionality wouldn't hurt as well.

Why doesn't this exist yet??

nothing wrong with the necro as the display now has a price.

and a visa mount.

That takes 'throwing money at the screen' to a whole new level. Mount your VISA on your screen permanently for pre-thrown money!

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

nice although 1440p @ 25 inches can be a bit difficult to read so it will be even harder @ 23 inches

It has to be easier than 1440p at 15" such as on a Macbook Pro. Seriously I thought I had bad eyesight.

For 24+", 2xAA is reasonably better, but once you get 4K at that screen size, it's pointless to use AA.

1440p already is a standard, it's been one for a long time, just not as mainstream as 1080p or 4K

Yeah, right guys? Guys?

Well if the price of this benq monitor is around $400, might as well buy that Dell 23.8in 4K monitor...

Bro 8k is suppose to break into the market in 2020.... there is no way it's going to take that long, also my grandparents have a 4k tv they don't even know how to send an email..... I think your underestimating the adoption speed, next year a single card will most likely be able to run games at 60fps 4k with high settings. Also think your forgetting 4k has been out for quite awhile now and 4k cameras are pretty affordable.

You know what i ment 1440p is like 5k, it will never be a mainstream standard.

Great, they have a 4K tv with no 4K broadcasts, a huge waste of money. It will certainly take that long.

8K monitors being available and being a remotely popular purchase are two very different things. Actually I much more expect 5K to become a standard, because it's double the resolution of 4K already which at 24" is a "retina" resolution.

Speculation without basis.

Sensors are cheap compared to scalers, and where's the high-speed shutters for less than $300 a piece?
