OH MY GOD, WAN show chat...

I had never really watched the WAN show live since I used to work the next day, but I'm watching it now and holy crap is the chat bad... There are only 2000 viewers and it's moving faster than anything I've ever seen! Do they not put slow mode on or anything? Or what if they added a subscription that was linked to the contributor service and put the chat in sub only mode? It would be really nice to have a sensible conversation about the topic with people, and it would also allow Linus and Luke to engage with viewers more, but it ends up being a spam fest.

 

Are there really just a bunch of 12 year olds watching??

You can have civil chats with 1000-2000 chat members, look at ProfessorBroman as a good example, regularly pulls 1-1.5k viewers and his chats are always very readable and mature.

However, when the chat just wants attention and because the WAN show doesn't do much if any chat interaction, the attention starved idiots come out of the woodwork to get senpai to notice them. Couple that with some of the rampant fanboyism of some people towards Linus/Luke and you get somewhere that's pretty aids to be.

This isn't just an issue with The Wan show. Its an issue with Twitch in general. I have only been able to actually chat with people when there is less then a few hundred people, or when subscriber only mode is on. A forum chat would be pretty cool.

Yeah, I watch GiantWaffle and itshafu frequently and they both have 6000+ viewers regularly, and their chats are brilliant, never full of spammers. The WAN show chat is just toxic as hell, no idea why. You'd have thought the subject matter would bring intelligent viewers? right?

All twitch chat is more cancerous than a tumor. It's best to just add /popout on the url of any channel and just ignore all of it.

2000 viewers? you should see it when there's 5 almost 6000 viewers.

 

I got perma banned from it for yelling "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO" last week (like everyone else did) when the stream went down.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs
