Just got a warning from Facebook ...

DeViLzzz

I just got a warning from Facebook that I am using the Like feature in a way that may not be the way it was intended to be used.  Basically I was going back and liking every single LinusTech post in case that helps him at all. I am not sure what Facebook likes, YouTube likes and views gets them but since I was going on about PAX in another post and how I don't care other than to support Linus and his employees I thought I'd start with Likes on Facebook that I never made in the past. I wonder how long before they do something worse than a warning?  Temp ban? Perma ban?  I wonder how much it takes for each?  Guess you can't like something too much on Facebook. LOL

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Can't say for sure for Facebook (I used it around 2 hours total), but I think YT likes make Linus' video get higher positions in search lists.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

The most I have seen Facebook do it remove your ability to like posts.

There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Just some helpful stuff: You're - You are, Your - Your car, They're - They are, Their - Their car, There - Over there.

Permanently without there being a temp ban from Liking first?

Liking it does not help him in any way. You are wasting your time.

So the number of likes they get doesn't help them?  I am surprised by this cuz I would think Facebook would direct sponsors to pages with loads of likes.  Facebook makes money off add revenue so uh ...

So you got a warning for liking stuff?.. And a friend of mine (+ There are a few groups that focus entirely on this) gets away with posting pornography?

- Turn off adblock on forum (still waiting for option to whitelist one channel without having to program half an elephant)

- like every video

- donate ocasionally

that's everything a poor student can do. :D

You're triggering the bot detection, stop spamming the like button.

The same thing happens if you spam add friends, it'll shut you down for a few days.

Spam likes is a big problem with Facebook. From what I gather from your post, this is the system in action

Compatible with Windows 95

*Faceplam* That has absolutly nothing to do with it. Liking Linus's posts does not Linus him in any way. Talking money.

No, but if you even skimmed the content of the video you would realize it's very pertinent in OP's situation and completely addresses the issue (what this thread is about)

Error: 410

Stop using Facebook, it's a terrible excuse for a social media site that got too big for its own good.

How exactly does this generate Linus any money?

OP mentions nothing about making Linus money.

Indirectly, publicity is still money for Linus.

Facebook won't ban you. They are like banks. Banks will never take away your credit card from you because that's how they make money.

Also at this point pretty much everyone who is anyone in this market knows Linus.
