I'm pretty sure if the US troops go in the australian troops will probably help out as well.

We are talking about innocent peoples lives here, and while living in a safe country it's easy to say "Na we can't afford to help you out", or "it's not our problem" etc.

Then again, there are several other reasons for the US to not help out.

I can't really comment much since I'm uneducated on the topic, but I don't think that watching them kill each other is a good idea.

I heard they have been fighting each other over land for centuries. So I don't think that invading and taking control will stop it.

This pretty much sums up why wars in that region are unwinnable and never will be.

How will anyone ever learn though? Yes there will be some bullshit responses but even if a couple of people can be educated, is it not a good thing?

As I said earlier, on a forum like this you have no idea about someone's background or knowledge about these sorts of things.

we have very impressionable users on the forum who may form their opinions around biased or extremist opinions if we open up a discussion like this.

Actually, that is extremism by definition. I find it hilarious that people try to denounce one far side of the spectrum by worshipping the other extreme end.

Guise, anything with political/opinionated. serious events in the world right now evoke strong opinions and therefor arguments. It's like asking U.S. users of the forum if they're democratic/republican/independent, whatever. This isn't the right place for this sort of thing.

 

That said, i'm against it.

More people killed+ more money spent by the government from our tax dollars= unnecessary.
