Maybe I'm lucky, or not as discerning as you (my hearing's not as good as it used to be), but the FLAC, WAV and DSD tracks  I have(amassed about 4TB of DSD64 and DSD128 tracks)  all sound great on the HEK, even on my K812 and HD800. But, the HEK being the newest, is getting most of my attention these days. This DAP by HFM is pretty damn good, dual Sabre 9018 and I'm using the Discrete amp card now, will swap to the Minibox later on.....you can actually do amp card rolling with the HM901s, but I think having two amp cards should be sufficient.......for now anyway.:P I'd actually wanted the HEX, but an opportunity presented itself for the HEK and I couldn't pass it up.....

If you have the chance, try to get hold of a Grado GS1000i, there's something special about its bass....but it isn't for everyone though, and only if you're something of a treblehead like me.:$

Definitely not a treblehead haha :P My amp is pretty meh atm (will be using a FiiO E11K) but it should be more than enough speaking overamping the HE-X is a bad thing and it can do just fine on mobile devices in the first place

PS2:
- Urbz: Sims in the City

- Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell

- Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers

GameCube:

- Super Monkey Ball

- Super Smash Bros. Melee disc only (Which is in perfect condition, so can replace my pretty scratched up Melee disc :D )

I also bought a GameCube (black) with two controllers (Both indigo, one has a clear back though) which had the Smash Melee disc with it. It also came with the GameCube AV cord, but also an N64 RF (Coaxial) cable which seems to be the same port as the GameCube (the non-RF side of course :P )

Haven't yet had time to test that cable out though.

Pretty good day today.

At 4K my 2.8 GHz first gen Intel CPU resulted in no bottlenecking at all besides minimal bottlenecking on CS:GO

Pretty sure a 4.7 GHz 2600K will be more than enough if a first gen 2.8 doesn't bottleneck, but what do I know. I've had a 4.8 GHz 4790K in my rig previously and I can tell you it's an absolute waste at this resolution and I sold it off (unless you have 980ti sli perhaps, then maybe it will make a difference)

I was just yanking your chain, a 1st gen i7 2600K @ 4.7ghz would indeed kick butts in games. My 3960X @ 4.5ghz is simply a beast and I don't see myself upgrading anytime soon......unless Zen is a total beast. Just recently built an i7 4770K rig for a pair of used GTX Titan 6GB I'd gotten at a good price, I don't see myself going pass 4.5ghz with it as well because it's more than fast enough. Hell, even my FX8350 @ 4.5ghz (what's it with me and 4.5ghz?) is sufficient for many of the games I play.

Back to my cans, HFM did a nice job by including three type of cables:

a 5 feet long cable with a 1/8" right-angled stereo plug for portables

a 3m long cable with a Neutrik 1/4" stereo plug for home use with receivers and headphone DAC/amps

a 3m long cable with a Balanced 4 pin XLR plug

But the thing is, the cables are somewhat stiff....so, I'm contemplating a 3rd party cable for the beast, but I don't wanna go overboard like buying a Cardas or Moon Audio cable. Something that's about as good as the HFM stock cables, but more well-behaved (malleable or pliable). Anything comes to mind?

Not really, im not much of a cable guy. Im definitely considering another one though since the stock cable is already fraying (and these are pm my end game)

One pink, one orange, and one blue, perhaps.

My latest purchase.

Over the course of a weekend, I probably already broke even vs driving to a Starbucks and paying $5 a drink. Still need some practice though. Lighting in the kitchen is terrible for telling the color of the creme, over extracting a shot is quite easy as a result. I did get a couple comments that my Caramel Machiattos beats out Starbuck's though, so maybe I'm just being a perfectionist.

Already ahead of you there (by about two years). Problem is, there is only one fixture up in the center of the kitchen, and my shadow casts where I'm working.

Off topic, but in an enclosed space that does not provide ventilation, I found these LED lights seem to last only a couple years before heat causes occasional flickering. Probably some capacitors or the like going south. A shame, I don't have a viable alternative to put in there that is quite as good. The best thing would probably to be just to bite the bullet and replace the entire fixture.

Fourth one along is the best album ever. :P

For some reason I always prefered Nightfall to Epicus Dommicus Metallicus

Both are great albums, but Nightfall just seems to have more memorable songs.

Although, the true kvlt person that lives deep within my little black heart would probably say that Live in Leipzig is the best album of all time.
