Not exactly a purchase per se, but it did involve paying for HiFiMan sockets and plugs, so it's sorta purchase related. Anyway, had a talented modder do up my Denons with removable/detachable cables so I can swap around different cables with HiFiMan plugs. The modder did a nice job based on the pics I see, also had him terminate the D700 cable with HiFiMan plugs as the cable itself is of good quality. I do have an Audeze Effects Audio and Q Cable, but since I have the Audeze to HiFiman adapters, I can use them on my Denons as well. And now, on with the potato pics...

From fixed cable....

I had the original D7000 cable terminated with HiFiMan plugs as I've been told the cable itself is pretty good.....

IMG-20150528-WA0004_zpsrj0tur8b.jpg

Why the mod? Well, I have a number of HFM compatible cables, including a French Silk Q Cable (for Audeze) and an Effects Audio cable (Audeze), I can use these as well as I have a pair of Audeze to HFM adapters.

If I were to get my hands on at least a 720p version of the panel in my netbook, I would be ecstatic.

A package arrived for me today, been waiting for it since I'd ordered it about a week ago...

1_zps0hxzmkzf.jpg

Inside tha package, a set of T50RP mod kit and the Comfort band......needed the latter as I've been using the T50RP more often than ever.

2_zpstsolgpyc.jpg

The finished product, well, at least for now. I'd followed a thread in HeadFi to mod the T50RP, now despite it looking more or less the same as the last time I'd posted it, what matters now is the mod done inside the cups. Bass is tighter now, and treble is not as bright as before.......and the Comfort band helps, been wearing it for the past about two hours and I ain't bothered by the pressure on the crown of my head like before. The MrSpeakers Alpha Pads brings the comfort level even higher, so I can see myself wearing my improved T50RP for hours on end playing games and listening to music. Now, I understand the hoopla over how moddable and versatile the T50RP is.....

IBM Thinkpad T40.

wWb4bGo.jpg

Aside from the tattered Pentium M sticker, two missing, pretty inconsequential pieces and the mech drive breaking down, it's in very good condition.

Honestly, I almost got one of these though I got a better deal on my CyberDemon with the 3360m oced+7570m.

It was $60, so honestly, I don't think I got a bad deal on it. Well, aside from the mech drive deciding "Nope, I'm out" after I began using it. Evidently it hasn't been used much since 2004, with the last applications installed in 2008.

I didn't exactly mean the T40, but a Thinkpad actually.   :P  I was thinking about getting an even older IBM though one from my childhood!  A PS/1! xD

Ah. Good luck finding a good deal!

A full one(monitor, system, mouse, and keyboard) goes for like 350+, so I doubt I will.

Oh. Yeah, I noticed the T30 fetches high prices on eBay for some reason, hence why I went for a T40.

Dang, the IBM PS/1 is from the DOS days this thing has some sweet specs which is why it is worth so much.   :P

Intel 80286 at 10 MHz.  True 4k wit dis champ.  xD

Pretty sure you can max out Crysis in 8K on that thing.
