Inhaling all those glorious toxic fumes from the motherboard for the first time. Also, when it's time to put the TIM on and the build goes from assembling LEGO to open heart surgery.

Pulling the plastic wrap stuff off all the components.

Side panel windows are my favorite ones to do.

I leave plastic on my electronics until the adhesive weakens enough for gravity to win.

Everything about the assembly. Unboxing all the new parts, planning out your build, planning out and working on cable management (some hate cable management, but I LOVE doing that!), the satisfying *click* when you install the RAM, GPU and SATA cables. I just love everything about the actual building of the PC.

 

It's great when you first hit that power button and you start messing around in the BIOS/UEFI, but to me, in a way, that signifies the end of the assembly. Even though it's relatively easy to build a typical PC in a short about of time, I've learned to just take my time and go slow. Plan out the cable routing as you go and just enjoy the process.  

 

It's also a great moment when you run that first graphically-demanding game on your brand new system, turn everything up to ultra and see it run at butter-smooth frame rates. So beautiful :).

I love it, because even though newegg says it will take 3 days to deliver with the cheapest shipping, it always only takes 2 days
