9/10, I really enjoy the vintage feel and the I like the effect you did with the faded train car.

7/10

The blurry people are really distracting.   I also don't really like the flaring on the lights.

I think a longer exposure could have been interesting.  if the woman in the foreground was stationary and the other people were a blur of motion.

Same trip as before from the one day I had some blue sky.  I though the one house on the hill looked pretty cool.  Its the only building you can see in any direction.

I absolutely love how desolate the picture looks, with the house off in the distance and all.  Not overdone on the saturation, flat horizon 10/10 (the only gripe I have is that contrail in the top right, but I hardly noticed it at first)

Went to a drag strip near me in Kinston, NC and got to see some awesome cars.  Before the sun went down I caught this picture and absolutely loved it:

I love this shot. The blurry back- and foreground really transfer the speed feeling to the viewer. The light lens flare also istn´t too overdone :)

Here is mine:

It was shot underneath a powerpole. I think a long exposure would have been nice. I just liked the pattern

There is really nothing appealing about this photo.  It looks like you took a shot out the window of a train.

VIbrant colors. I like how the shot is lightened up with an linear focal point being drawn down the sand along the beach houses, thus setting up the depth/perspective.

I'm, not fond of the fact that all of the windows are boarded up, but other than that, it's an beutiful.

7/10, good composition but it seems like something is missing. Maybe a wider shot that includes some more background may have helped.

Here's a pic i took messing with a fast wide angle on my fuji xpro1

I like the dramatic atmosphere put out by your picture, the only gripe I have about it is where you took the picture from.  I feel like you could've gone a bit to the right and angled sharper towards the boat, centering it a bit more and filling up the top right corner. 7/10

I like the shot.  I like the black and white.  The only thing I don't like is the background.

This would be a really cool shot if the guy pumping gas wasn't there.

Nice Photo, I would try an move the white balance a little to get the moon a bit whiter as it looks a little yellow. Also would go with a tighter crop as there is a lot of black space! 7/10!

I didn't want to go into digital zoom, that was done only with the 30x optical zoom to preserve quality.  Thanks for the tip, I personally think it's cool with the yellow-white look, it makes it unique :)

6/10, lacking in composition. you dont usually want everything dead center in the photo.

Bob's right about this photo.  A bit more off center (vertical and horizontal) would make it more aesthetically pleasing.  But aside from that, backyard bird feeder photos are like a dime a dozen.

This video is one (out of several) ways of looking at what elements in a photo makes it great.

Of course, your photo isn't much better.

8/10 for color rendition and composition

1/10 for the lack of "something" that really draws the audience

Who's guitar is it? Did it belong to some famous or legendary musician or made by a legendary instrument maker/manufacturer? When you take a photo like this, you should do a photo series taking photos of the guitar from different angles, perspectives.  It's really hard to judge anything from a singular image and there's really no "WOW" or emotional factor to just this one image.

For example, it doesn't have to be a guitar that's famous or belonged to anyone famous.  It can be one that belonged to your grandfather who used it to court his wife (your grandmother), who passed it down to your father who used it to court your mother and now he passed it down to you so that you can use it to court the girl you like... make a photo that somehow conveys the role that the guitar has played.

Here's a photo I took some time ago, when this famous person made a visit to Switzerland and sort of acted as an unofficial "Goodwill Ambassador".  It's a press photo.

Pure coincidence.  That was just before I became a professional photographer.  The photographer in the photo, with the flash firing, is my friend and he's the full time staff photographer.  He asked me that day to help out, but all I had on hand was my Nikon D90, 17-55 lens and a SB-400 (which is just one step above the pop-up flash on the camera).

That's Shakira!
