Broadwell first in 2015 together with Skylake and only "high end"?

So, it looks like Broadwell has been pushed to 2015, and will launch together with Skylake

Broadwell also looks to only be used for the top i7 and top i5 with Skylake taking the rest of the show

So I guess Intel is having trouble with 14nm and had to almost eliminate Broadwell and just skip to Skylake. I'm cool with that, Haswell Refresh works great for know, and Skylake really is the most intersting one of those anyways

Glad to see the extra PCIe connectivity out of the box, this will possible end up in more lanes on motherboards, which is great as we see things like storage and expansion working on the PCIe bus

This means I will probably manage to reach the 7 year mark for my 2600 before feeling the need to upgrade.

Just going to keep waiting. Skylake-E you will be mine. Although when broadwell/skylake laptops start showing up then I will probably get something to replace my MBP seeing as it is still on sandy and the battery life is nothing spectacular.

Desktop -  i5 4670k, GTX 770, Maximums VI Hero, 2X Kingston Hyper X 3k in raid zero.

Laptop - Lenovo X230 Intel 535 480GB, 16GB Gskill memory, Classic Keyboard Mod, Triple USB 3.0 Express Card.

Yeah Skylake-E seems to be a solid target, ddr4 will mature till then! Meanwhile I'll just upgrade my GPU and hope it will last.

A more sensible company would just lower the prices of the older generation products to act as the lower tiers but sadly this is intel we're talking about

Damn, now I'm going to wait even longer before broadwell, so I may as well just get skylake instead, as it'll be a better option unless intel feel tempted to lower their prices on non refresh haswell, which I doubt they will.

well, if the performance bump is less than 10% what's the use in bringing up new architecture even for a years late or so, this(new cpu release) is getting way too much attention imho

Details separate people.
