"Illegal". I've worked night shift at a few places, and cops have suggested carrying one. Also, in Alberta you're allowed to carry a baton if you're a security guard.

phone

knife (if the police approve him to carry one, because its for his job, the average joe cant accually carry a knife on a daily basis -,-)

Really?  We had a gun show here in alberta and people were selling collapsible batons, I always thought they were illegal too, but they were selling them so I figured I was wrong or they changed the law.

google knife laws in canada. carying a knife is illegal in canada, UNLESS its for your job, like gardening, land survaier(machete) or a IT guy with a swiss army knife.

 

now these laws are kinda bendable, because in rural area (dense forest) lile where i live, i have carried a machete down the road for over 4 years and nobody has said a thing.

 

this might sound dumb considering that in the states you can carry a knife all day long, but look at charts for population:muggings, canada is WAY lower. thats also why concealed weapons permits (cwp) dont exist in can, so the on'y peeps that can carry guns are the police.

wrong pepper spraw is illegal, my aunt tried to buy some online and she couldn't, so i did research and and, yea you cant buy/own it. 

 

HOWEVER bear spray is legal, so if you need pepper spray, just use that, besides bear spray is stronger
