needs a new name steamboy sounds tupid and is riding on the nintendo gameboy. If its actually a legit pc handheld then it should have a name to set it out as the unique product it is.

 

Other than that I really like the idea, looks good for stuff like indie titles I doubt itd be powerful but if the screen is like, less then 720p it might be ok. Im talking out my ass here.

 

Probably going to suceed well with those of us who want that handheld experience with their games and if not that then itd be cool for just media consumption.

I wouldn't want this. Unless it was a device that can utilize the Internet and have extremely well bandwidth anywhere in the world and allowed me to stream from my PC to this device with no noticeable input delay. That would ultimately win me to handhelds. Realistically though, that is not really going to happen.

Not if the device runs at a sensible resolution for a small screen like 720p. Match the DPI of a standard 1080p 23 inch display most gamers have and that way the same games can run on lesser hardware and a lower resolution screen while keeping the same visual quality.

Not quite. If they use AMD's new Mobile Kaveri, the system could play games without many performance issues.

i really doubt a fanless AMD APU will be able to even run PC games at 720p on low settings

the amd 5350 cant even break 20FPS at 720p on modern games

maybe this will geared towards  side scrollers  and the such (much less demanding games)

 

or this could be like nvidia shield

streaming games on it  via wifi

but nvidia has a much more polished device/software

To me this seems like a great idea cuz you have the shield and that's great but there should be more options for the same idea make them be competitive. It might not be perfect when it comes out if it does at all but competition is what will push innovation and a better experience for us all so we should all be supporting things like this as it will make gaming better in the long run!

It really needs to be more than their stated 32GB of storage. That will go so incredibly fast when installing PC games. It's not like the chips to provide more are that expensive.

The image kind of reminds me of the new controller for Wii-U and a bit of the Vita system.

It will have to run a really low power apu if they want to keep the form factor. Even the latest mobile apu isn't fast enough to play games reasonably well. Battery life will be a huge issue too. I really don't see this taking off unless they have some really good cooling in there and a graphene battery.
