How do you keep cool at the desktop?

Recon-UK

I myself use my old EVGA motherboard with a spare Gigabyte ODIN 550watt PSU plugged in and 4x Noctua NF-B9 1600's on full whack.

Being the enthusiast, i show my love for PC hardware by using it as much as possible :P

To turn it off, i simply flick the PSU switch, but to turn them on, i flick the switch on, then hit the onboard power button on the mobo.

Fan specs:

bevelled_blade_tips.png Bevelled Blade Tips
Due to advanced design measures like the bevelled blade tips, the NF-B9 is surprisingly quiet despite its outstanding airflow and pressure performance. button_main_black.gif
  vortex_control_notches.png Vortex-Control Notches
Psychoacoustic optimizations like the Vortex-Control Notches make the NF-B9's noise pattern more pleasant to the human ear. button_main_black.gif
  sc_drive.png Smooth Commutation Drive
The new SC drive system reduces torque variations and thereby ensures improved running smoothness, particularly at lower speeds. button_main_black.gif
  sso_bearing.png Self-stabilizing oil-pressure bearing
Noctua's well proven SSO-Bearing technology guarantees supremely quiet operation and exceptional long-term stability. button_main_black.gif

You need fans in the UK? Personally I don't need anything. My apartment never heats up too much because I don't live in hot environments.

Air con + a 140mm fan propped up to blow that little extra bit of air. Shame both my Phanteks fans bloody died from falling over the being so brittle the blades broke, on the second fan, 2 blades snapped! Whenever I get the Phanteks Evolv, I'll probably swap the fans for Noctuas. I love your style, Phanteks, but your fans are too damn weak for the cost of the things.

I have an old Fisher Price children safe blue and white desktop fan that I've had since I was about as tall as the damn thing which has a little notch in the fan cover at the bottom, using this I can dangle it out of my window just holding onto the inside of the window frame with the notch and let it blow cool air in from outside.

It's fucking magic, ghetto air con.

I pour liquid nitrogen on my testicles.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch
