My first Cpu and Gpu:

Intel Quad core Q6600 & Nvidia GT 8800.

It was the first time i built a computer in 2007/8 and i was only a young lad(15). I used the information from a build guided on a youtube channel called NCIX, this man called Linus was really helpful!

I had the same, some of you guys have no idea how slow these things were compared to today's computers =P

having to cable your GPU to an accelerator at the back of the PC, and CPU's that looked like VHS videos xD . they were the days....thank goodness they are over xD

No kidding. ;) I was actually first gaming on a Tandy 386 running DOS. No GPU in that sucker. Monochrome bubble-screen CRT and floppy disks (that were actually floppy). :P

If I remember correctly, my first CPU and GPU in a gaming PC (if you can even call it that) were a Pentium 4 (Prescott 2M), and a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200. These were the minimum specifications required to play oblivion, and all my family was willing to spend on.

went from a celeron 533 to an i3-530 (gpu was hd4350), to the fx-4100 (had a hd6670 here), upgraded to the fx-8320 (went from hd7850 to r9 290) and then the 4790k (still on my r9 290)

pretty huge leaps from my first to second, and third to fifth. the 530 & 4100 were about equal, but the 4100 streamed a tad better.
