One notable program for power users/multi task use is PowerToys by Microsoft for Windows 11 you can find it on google or on the Microsoft Store

Personally I'd recommend using Winget - the official Windows package manager - over chocolatey because:

1. It comes preinstalled on modern versions of windows (Win 10 22H2 and newer I believe)

2. It's compatible with the Windows store.

It doesn't have as good of a selection of apps available, but it's still pretty good.

+1 for PowerToys. I can't live without FancyZones anymore.

Equalizer APO: I have been using that since 2016...

Extensions:

Peace EQ: I use that but it's doesn't let you utilize the full functionality of Equalizer APO

HeSuVi: Didn't know about that one, could be useful in the future.

Auto EQ Headphone Database: Didn't know about that one, could be useful in the future.

VoiceMeeter: Last time i tried to use it, It caused a driver conflict and borked the sound on my Windows 2000 machine.

Chocolately: I don't need that.

WizTree: Didn't know about that one, but does it work on Windows 2000 like WinDirStat? 😄

WinToys: Micro$oft $tore exclusive?! - That's a hard no for me

Ventoy: I wish i had known about it earlier, I am gonna use that from now on.

NetBoot.xyz: I wish i had known about it earlier, I am gonna give it a try.

MediCatUSB: Nope, I am using Hiren's BootCD PE - It's all i need.

Simple HTTP Server: Why?, I either use a FileZilla FTP server or a good old network share both can be protected by password.

I am once again disappointed by the lack of research LMG does.

And PowerToys is an obvious one...

One thing I'm slightly suprised didn't get a mention was Chris Titus's Windows Tool which in addition to the ninite style install a bunch of apps at once also has runtimes and windows tweaks and even allows for a configuration file to be created to deploy the changes to multiple computers.

To be fair they mention PowerToys as part of their recommendation of using WinToys. I imagine the rationale for not talking much about it is that it was included in either the tricks for Windows or stuff to do after updating to Windows 11 video.

About mounting ISOs, I'd love to see you guys mention or cover the Iodd Mini. It's a little device with buttons and a screen that acts as a device emulator of sorts. You can mount ISOs and the host PC sees it as a USB DVD drive with a disc inserted. You can mount ISOs or virtual hard disks (VHDs) and can mount multiple devices at once. So, you could boot into a Linux live CD and have a virtual USB drive mounted too with useful files stored on it. It's also great for devices that expect a specific filesystem or that don't support large USB drives, like an old TV or game console (For example: Og Xboxes only recognize drives up to 4GB). It's very versatile.

HFS (HTTP File Server) is great for large file sharing. Super easy alternative to FileZilla/other at-home server software, and it’s not limited to local network sharing. Version 3, on the GitHub, can even use HTTPS if you have a certificate.

Medicat's website is down 😄

So the torrent linked to the site, it has malware in the main MediCat_Installer.exe as reported to be infected with a Trojan per Windows Defender. The readme file even instructs the users to disable AV. DO *NOT* DO THIS, bad idea!!!

Uploaded to Virus total. The results in link below.

It's due to how we packed the installer.

I can promise you it's not actually malware and can send the source code if needed. We don't use that anymore anyways in favor of the new version at https://github.com/mon5termatt/medicat_installer

It might do. But maybe only on new installs? My version of windows doesn't have winget, or if it does, it's not on path. CMD as admin doesn't change that. Neither does powershell.

Also the Sycnex/Windows10Debloater is something I use with every fresh windows install.

It has a GUI but there's also the individual scrips that can be looked at.
