We're bringing back the 'off topic' thread however there are a few things we want to make sure are clear

  • Ensure a friendly atmosphere to our visitors and forum members.
  • "Don't be a dick" - Wil Wheaton.
  • "Be excellent to each other" - Bill and Ted.
  • Remember your audience; both present and future.
  • Don't make us lock this one because someone got carried away with the porn.

Hi bro how is your day?

So I found a wasp nest in the hallway that connects to my flat the other week, told the landlord and heard nothing.

It's located in the corner of a skylight for the 3rd floor, looked like their only access to the outside world was the actual window which I think had been open for a few months.

Well well well, the guy upstairs decided to close the window earlier today. That wasn't fun.

Having breakfast with an old friend.  Promised me a tour of his workplace later, some 'studio' in an industrial park... I think they might make porn or something.

Hah.  It was Saturday, so there was no one there. 😛  Which is nice to see a YouTube studio that does releases 7 days a week, is keeping it's people home on the weekend rather than having them slave away at all hours of the day to keep the all mighty content algorithm beast fed.

We've known each other since 2008 online but never met IRL before today.  I'm coming through BC enroute to CFB Esquimalt so I can drag my partner off a boat full of explosives.  So his wife was gracious enough to pick me up at the airport at 00:30, drop me off at the hotel, then the next day we hit cool retro stores and walked through the LMG studio and such.  Then tomorrow I'm off to Vancouver island to get to Esquimalt.  So a whirlwind 1.5 day visit to the Vancouver area.  Some guy we ran into invited us to a computer musuem he's not quite opened yet but no time. =X

Travel pro tip: Bring a device for your hotel TV.  This here is a Lenovo M93P Tiny that I upgraded with an i7 4750HQ.  Just runs Windows 10, can run any windows media app, Kodi, Plex, Steam for light gaming (Hey this dies have Haswell Iris Pro graphics. :V)  I'm not about to watch cable after all.

This is also why I want a Steam Deck, the same device that entertains me in the airport or on the airplay, could also be my media playback machine while traveling, or get docked into the TV and become the hotel TV media/gaming machine.

Right now I'm traveling with the Lenovo, a laptop, and a Switch. 😛
