  1. i try to stick to local account as much as possible, like my privacy for the most part for whatever that means in this day and age of everything online nothing is hidden no privacy. its getting to the point of "you want privacy? what are you hiding?!"
  2. Hi all, hope everyone is safe and well on this hot and humid day in Japan. I've been thinking about this over the last few days as I was turning off cortana and telemetry/metrics in windows 10 on my work laptop and was wondering if and how much telemetry/metric gathering and cortana will be in windows 11 and will it be able to be disabled completely? Also what is the difference between a local account and logging into your Hotmail account? The get even more out of windows thing? Oh and edge, is it worth using? Cheers all
  3. Cheers all some great options there Much appreciated
  4. Hi all, hope everyone is well , Just a quick one, I'm in the initial stages of planning a build but finding it hard finding cases, good looking cases with optical drive slots, I still use physical media so an internal drive is needed. Yes I'm old hahaha My current rig is over what? 11yrs old now I think hahaha I might scrub through the build vids and see if there is one in them. Thanks in advance
  5. hi all, hope you are well. i have a question, i gen do not know the answer to thought id start here. why are microchips/processors etc printed on circular plates instead of square ones? surely they can get more onto a square or rectangular plate, lots of wasted space on a circle it seems. thanks
  6. Let's hope the V2 is soon. Cheers for the info
  7. Afternoon all, is everyone doing well? Quick question, I'm just rewatching petabyte project is full! Time to upgrade... For about the 500th time and I'm curious, did the hoodie boss is wearing in that vid ever hit the store? It's really nice. Cheers
  8. Effectively we have no onsite IT department, and what we do have deals with the email system mainly, small operation. I'll convince him somehow Cheers for letting me pick your brain.
  9. Yeah been thinking about it but it's a works machine, not sure how happy the boss will be with me tinkering haha, plus the win 10 is an upgrade from previous os so no installation media, if I used Microsoft creation tool to make one would it still install on a different HDD/SSD if it's in the same system?
  10. It's a Toshiba dynabook b45/b win 10 pro 64bit Intel celeron 3855u 1.6GHz 8gb ram 500GB HDD, Directx 12 Not an overly powerful system but it's what I've been given to work with
  11. Hi all, this has probably been covered but I can't find it. I'm having an issue with a laptop, it is still showing disk usage 100%, I have already disabled superfetch, indexing, cortana, telemetry, win update, all the xbone crap, run check disk but nothing seems to have worked. Can anyone suggest anything please? Ethernet is also being a pain in the arse but that's an issue for another day
  12. Thanks everyone much appreciated, I'll have a look at everything and go from there, some interesting suggestions
  13. Hi all, Does anyone know of a good free CAD program please? My boss refuses to get Autodesk due to cost even though it's a far superior program, instead we use a free one called JWW CAD. It is unbelievably crap. Janky and awkward to use, it is by far an inferior program but no choice as it's the free one.... I came close to bouncing this craptop out the window today while using it. But anyway any suggestions would be appreciated Thank you
  14. Was that the on in the old house with the copper pipes and huge iron radiator bolted to the roof outside? I remember that one hahaha good times. But yeah one giant loop would be a pain one loop per server would make more sense and be a bit more manageable than one huge one
