Email addresses...to more than 200 million Twitter profiles are... circulating on... hacker forums, security experts say. Leaked records also includes Twitter users’ names, account handles, follower numbers and the dates the accounts were created. Some reports suggested the data was collected in 2021 through a bug in Twitter’s systems, a flaw the company fixed in 2022 after a separate incident in July involving 5.4 million Twitter accounts alerted the company to the vulnerability. Troy Hunt... said Thursday that his analysis of the data “found 211,524,284 unique email addresses” that had been leaked. The Washington Post earlier reported a forum listing promoting the data of 235 million accounts. Twitter didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Its communication team, along with roughly half of Twitter’s overall workforce, was gutted after billionaire Elon Musk completed his acquisition the company in late October.

My thoughts

Oh nooooooooo, not again. Who could have ever seen this coming? It's funny how lately every time something happens at twitter lately, every news agency is quick to remind you that Twitter no longer has a communications team and has not replied to inquiries. It's not that big of a deal though as Twitter has a history of giving out this exact info to advertisers "on accident". With how small twitter is, I'm not sure how much longer it will last.

I'm confused. Did this say that the hack was from 2021? Then what does this have to do with Elon? Other than bandwagon on the everything wrong with Twitter is Elons fault. Also not going to lie having my email leaked isn't really all that concerning for me.

You shouldn't have drawn this to everyone's attention.  It's much easier to see who's opinions can be routinely ignored when they make such assumptions.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

Not really a trusted source for much of anything unless you trust them to tell a lie on the daily basis. This has been common knowledge since the early 90's.

Just grabbed a random one from the various news sites reporting it. I'll swap to a different quote source later today.
