What happened to Anthony

Chandu gogineni

Is Anthony ok

He didn't appear in any video since atleast a month or two

He would be the person to cover recent launch of products but he didn't

He didn't post anything after backpack fiasco

Did he by any chance leave the team cause he is still on lmg website

Did I miss anything

He's still on the staff directory. Anthony has been doing a lot more behind the scenes stuff recently, with him and Jake and a few others managing the infrastructure side of LMG. As writers get higher and higher up, they have more responsibility for others and have less time for video hosting.

Maybe he was on vacation. LMG staff can have vacation time too. Otherwise they're all just slaves for your entertainment.

This would have been my first guess. Without knowing how many weeks they get, two weeks on vacation would easily show as 2 months hiatus when making single video can take up to two weeks.

Anthony does a lot of the testing and benchmarking you see on the channel along with a few others. There have been quite a few things coming out over the past couple of months so he has been busy.

Be sure to @Pickles von Brine if you want me to see your reply!

This is a very offensive and narrow-minded thing to say. 🤨

Normally when I make a statement about another country or its people I make sure to do my due diligence to ensure my opinion isn't clouding facts. Does not appear to be the case with your comment.

Paid time off is the standard in the US, even for the lowest paying jobs... Not sure what you're forming this opinion from.

Not always standard. Many hourly jobs do not have paid time off.

It's fairly common in other countries to just go "haha America bad".

The particular comment in question is a very common view espoused by Europeans because if I remember right they are entitled to far more pto/vacation time than the average American.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Anthony in is in the 4090 video today so you can all chill.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Yeah but who knows when that was filmed!

We need a video of him holding up today's newspaper to know for sure! (Anthony blink twice if the door is locked from the outside.)

US pay for the same job is like 1.5-2x European pay for all but the lowest of jobs.

But yeah, Europeans get an extra week or two off each year...

This is a weird argument to make (hi, European here 👋)

What does PPP have to do with PTO? It's a non sequitar.

Here are some recent numbers on PTO in Europe vs America: https://getyournewview.com/vacation-guilt-america-vs-europe-pto/

Even if an American earned more on average than a European you still have bills to pay that the average European has already paid through taxes. (Doctor's visits, School, Nursery, etc.)

I've never quite understood, as a European, why there is always focus on how much Americans earn whenever they are facing socialistic policies like more vacation time, more sickleave and workers rights. It's so strange to me.

Income adjusted for PPP is basically how much $$$ a country makes divided among the population.

A joke when I was at Google was that someone could choose to work 60% time (so 3 days a week instead of 5) and still make more than a European working 5 days a week.

It's admittedly true that most companies don't support that kind of working paradigm. I wouldn't be surprised if it eventually becomes more common though.

At some point I'll probably semi-retire (think university professor with a light load) or do consulting (think work 3-8ish months a year). Semi retirement would still have a greater income than much of the EU. Basically anywhere that isn't Zurich.

And yeah, a few extra weeks of vacation is nice. It's just... not THAT much. Americans can still (it's frowned upon) take unpaid leave if they feel like it.

I enjoy jobs that do the forty hour work week in 4days and having a 3 day weekend; you accomplish more and have a more relaxing weekend.

I also know some places allow people to have every other Friday off if they extend their workday by like 45 minutes. A bit of an in-between if 10 hour workdays are a bit overwhelming for some.
