Still, I'm not sure where all the moral indignation is coming from. I'm not saying this is something amazing, but I wouldn't say it's particularly bad either. It's a marketing gimmick that will have a somewhat (marginally) positive effect.

Here's a thought: Server farm and all the systems are filled (to max motherboard (if not OS) capacity of RAM. Use what ever browser has the lowest RAM footprint. Open dozens, hundreds, or thousands of videos and the tabs to periodically refresh (few minutes?) Don't give the systems speakers. Assuming they'd allow it (pornhub) that should plant hundreds or thousands (10's of thousands?) of trees.
