The Popcorn Time developers have gone silent

Popcorn Time was one of the most-discussed topics last month with contributors happy to chat and bathe in the publicity. Recently though, something has changed. Previously talkative developers have deleted their work, gone silent, disappeared, or all of the above. It's hard not to draw the obvious conclusion.

Spooky. That's extremely strange, and I dunno what could have happened, unless they were hit with a bunch of lawsuits, but if they were, wouldn't we know about it? Either way, I think we all want to know happened to them. For now, Popcorn Time is still available for download, but at this  point, it may not be for long [speculation]

Yes and no. I mean, if they're being silent to focus in on development, then that's fine, but apparently they've always been really chatty, until now. It's just strange that they would go silent all of a sudden.

I have used the service a few times to watch films in 1080p. The quality is outstanding and is great if I am honest. The only problem I have with it is that the other people in my house use the internet to which means I can only watch stuff when they are out. We don't have much bandwidth.

Strange...

I must say though i have tried the app and the work they have done is Amazing!! It streamed content better than Youtube and Netflix, both huge services with tons of support, on my super slow 4mbps connection at 720p with out dropping or buffering once, if only the big players would use this open source stuff to increase the quality of there products instead of silencing them with lawsuits

Guessing you didn't actually read the article?

Sucks. Used them a bit. It was a pretty good service. Sad to just see them "disappear" as it seems.

As I get older I get angrier more cynical, meaner. I feel some warning posts coming. I feel a ban coming. I was warned.
