Should I get a 2070 Super or 3070?

Excluding the price surge and shortage, what is objectively better, a 2070 Super, or 3070 overall? My budget is around $550. I don't know much about what all the stats mean for GPUs, so having a simplified explanation would be nice. I currently have a Ryzen 5 3400G and after having built my PC back in June (2021), I finally have the money to buy a GPU. I know both these cards are good and are at a similar MSRP price, so I just want to know what would be better. I usually play games such as Apex Legends, Subnautica, and with a GPU, hopefully Ark: Survival Evolved. I also started to learn how to 3D render using blender, so having a card that is efficient with that would be handy. I know there are more options than these cards, but since before I even bought my PC parts, I had my eye on the 2070/Super and I recently noticed that the 3070 is at a similar price to it. Thanks for any info.

3070.  It's not night and day faster in games, but the Cuda core difference is huge if you're rendering in something that takes advantage of that.

Get the 3070 if you can, the 2070S if you can't. The 3070 is something like 20% faster, and if you can get it for the same price, it's well worth it. That being said, you'd probably have to upgrade your CPU to fully take advantage of it. Also, finding a 3070 for anywhere MSRP is basically impossible, so you might be forced to get a 2070, if you can find one in that price tier as well.

 

Tl:Dr; Pricing is dumb and while you should try for the 3070, good luck getting one

Userbenchmark isn't a realistic benchmark to base your purchases on.

tl;dr: the 3070 is 30% faster than 2070 Super averagely, so if both are at the same price, 3070 is easy pick

3070 is more like a 2080Ti, which is a much faster GPU than 2070S

3070 is about 30-40% faster in games. But that cpu will most likely even it out if not playing 4k ultra settings.

It's 3D Mark though. It's better to just look up actual reviews that show performance, not a synthetic benchmark.

it depends on the cenerio. 

Anything that uses tensor or rt or cuda is may mroe, in teh 50%+ more preformanc,e pure raster I think is about 20%

Userbullshit is terrible, at one point it said like a 3950x was worse than lik ea 9400f or something like that.

But thats 3d mark, which is actually like good

I had a 2070 super before and it's a decent upgrade at 1440p. If you can get the cards reasonably priced get what ya can

I upgraded from 2070 Super FE - to 3070 FE

 

it was a big improvement especially for RTX titles

thats why nobody uses it to compare different hardware with eachother,

you use it to check if your performance is somewhat in-line with the same hardware if you suspect anything is underperfoming.

Its actually quite helpful but people are using it wrong all the time.

As someone who is planning their next build, I've been looking at GPUs and the 3070 has almost completely disappeared. And goes for more money than you can get a 3070ti for. The newer card as well as being faster, and with a longer driver support life ahead of it, also has a warranty. Which IMO is a huge plus when spending 100's of £/$/€.
