There's good books that explore this scenario, meeting other alien species, or why other species would have no interest in contacting us.

 where they deal with various alien life forms ...

Also lots of other books go with the idea that we're too beginners, not technologically advanced enough, and that we (everything around our star the sun) could actually be off limits to other alien species, and not allowed to be contacted until we develop better space travelling abilities and establish a single world government or something similar to that.

 

But yeah, on those premises I'd have no problems interacting with other alien lifeforms, exchanging information and knowledge 

First you'd have to deal with lots of other things, like even ability to handle allergens, different gravity, figure out what food you can eat, learn different language and customs so you won't offend someone (for example smiling could be considered by some as aggressive behavior because you're showing your teeth , or looking into someone's eyes could be considered offense or challenge for territory or mating etc)

well if something like that were to happen, would the alien in question be able to like transphorm into a humanoid form, or already be like that? Because if its the earlier that would be epic but also like what if like they could transform into anime characters (me inner anime simp speaking)
