You don't want to be running games from a hard drive though. A 128GB SSD for the OS is a waste of money. Also considering the op had a 1TB SSD in his spec I doubt he would want to drop down to 128GB.

I would say it's good, but you could find RAM that performs the same for $25 less pretty easily and you can usually find a 144hz monitor for ~$50 more so you could use spend the remaining budget on that.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything. 

 

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.

Everything in this is pretty good. You could get cheaper RAM, a better monitor, and YOU NEED MORE STORAGE. A single 500GB drive just doesn't last long for the average person's active steam library.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

There are pictures in the Amazon listing, you know. But yes, there are some on the rear, as well as an internal header for the front panel. It's the same as basically every other motherboard.

ssd: windows 10 and most used applications

hdd: everything you can't fit on the ssd

- OS
