It's time for me to upgrade.

The time has come for me to upgrade, my i7 920 just doesn't cut it anymore :(

I use my main system for gaming and virtualization.

I already made a part list but I just wanted to double check it :)
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/3f6mG <People where not happy about the fans :)

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/3fc73

From my old system I will use 2x 830 128GB SSD in RAID 0 as my OS drive and I will re-use my first gen HX850 PSU.
The 630 is there to power my 2 secondary monitors.
There is no need for any other storage besides the 3 SSD's as I will use my server for the rest of the storage :P

Everything will be bought in Dutch stores so there is no need to link to different hardware because its on sale somewhere :)

Strawpoll time!

Noiseblocker Black Silent Pro - VS - BitFenix Spectre Pro

EDIT:

Parts have been ordered, I ended up going for the BitFenix fans.

looks good to me, H100i will fit in the 750D,

But that ram is super expensive, but hey, we're enthousiasts for something. :D

I would go with the quiet edition SP120's because I have heard that the high performance ones have an annoying high-pitched whine

@looney Seems good (although I still don't understand why you wouldn't run the three monitors off of one 780) but if I were you I would buy some of the parts at us websites and then use a shipping forwarding service to get some of your parts for cheaper

Have you thought about a Swiftech H320, since the 750D supports it and idk... more is better. Or a H220 maybe. Other than that looks solid.

Edit: yeah the fans aren't the best. But i guess if you like the looks, and don't give a crap about the noise, then they're good. :D

who cares...

But that ram is super expensive, but hey, we're enthousiasts for something. :D

The ram is mostly due to aesthetics and I really like the kingston warranty :P

I would go with the quiet edition SP120's because I have heard that the high performance ones have an annoying high-pitched whine

The SP120's are for the radiator and will most-likely be stepped down to 9V

I plan on getting more monitors :P, in the meantime it can fold :)

I went for the H105 as it supposedly has a better block and pump.

i would only assume that if he builds a Z87 build he isnt interested in X79 or it is to expensive, so X99 would fall under the same catagory

(or he will upgrade later like he just said 2 sec before me -.- )

Not waiting for the 450D?

You could get some quieter fans

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/arctic-cooling-case-fan-afaco120pcgba01

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/akasa-case-fan-akfn062

Not interested in the looks of Viper ram? http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/patriot-memory-pv316g160c9k

Are you going with the evga 780 due to preference? The Windforce 3x 780 matches the motherboard better imo: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn780oc3gdrev20

Planning to sli?

Have you thought about getting a 4820k instead of the 4770k to allow for more RAM? I'm sure how many VM's you have running at once though, so a 32gb max may be enough for your personal usage.

bu but the blue rings  :(

Yeah, lot of people complaining about the fans so I will probably change them out.

And EVGA is indeed a preferred brand, So is gigabyte with the motherboard.

32 will be enough, If I need more then I will offload to my server or laptop.

It's just because SP120's are loud. It's a shame since they're great performers.

I'm more of a UV Blue led fan guy for looks http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/gelid-solutions-case-fan-fnfw1215b

If the grey from the Arctic F12 PWM CO's bother you, AK-FN058's pretty great. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/akasa-case-fan-akfn058

The Hyperborea is just a rebrand of it. http://www.anandtech.com/show/6391/120mm-radiator-fan-roundup-part-2-fan-harder/7
