It's pretty simple, make sure the nas and the computer are on the same network, and then follow the steps in the video below:

i know nas but i need alot of storage like 1petabyte.

my budget is unlimited.

Do you already have that petabyte files now?

Why not just start from 100 Tera first and build it as it grows.

Synology has 24 bay drive which you can use 12 (the rest for redundancy).

With 20TB drive, you can achieve 240TB on 1 server.

Buy 4 server and you'll get your 1PB.

That's exactly what you need.

No need to build yourself if you have unlimited funds.

Synology got you covered with the hardware and the software with extra warranty if something goes wrong.

All you need to do is buy and plug the drives.

The NAS handles all that stuff.

No need to worry about that, it will be automatically build by the software.

Plug 24 drives and it will create 12 usable drives in RAID 1 (or more if using other method).

Like @SupaKoputa and @WereCatf mentioned, the raid arrangement, disk allocation, volumes, storage pools etc. will be handled by the NAS software itself, and it will be a breeze to setup, and you will have different raid options too, and seeing that you will be upgrading your storage, you will be fine going with either SHR OR SHR-2  IF  you choose Synology as they give you maximum storage space

Reading the thread i realized that you need hands on help, because even if you bought the best NAS out there you will have trouble settings it up and configuring access to your PCs.

I suggest you get professional help from someone local that can come over to you premises and set everything up.

There should be professionals in your local area who can advise you on what to get and help in obtaining and setting it up. These professionals are called consultants.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

That is not an unlimited budget... you have a budget of $90K which sounds ridiculous..

Have you looked online? there are plenty of consulting services if you really have 90K USD to spend.
