What is the best suitable motherboard for athlon 3000g ?

I want to build a cheapest possible PC with athlon 3000g . I am not sure which motherboard is suitable for this APU.

Because I know that some motherboard cannot handle in OC mode

You hardly can gain any significant performance with that CPU OC.

I suggest B450 boards.

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w

Why b450 and not 350 @ everyone suggesting the more expensive variant?

Here's my suggestion @ OP

Quote

Asrock AB350/M PRO4.

Why? Because Asrock.

Protip : don't go msi or gigabyte, terrible quality especially in lower priced tiers...

Are you sure that the Ryzen 3000 series has an updated BIOS/UEFI for the B350 chipset based motherboards? If not, then the newer CPUs will not be supported at all.

Pretty sure that's how I run my 3600 on a b350m :)

Also op said athlon not ryzen and I looked this up, the asrock is compatible, alledgely!

This is a dual core chip I think a b450 would prolly be complete overkill ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sorry I was thinking of the Ryzen 5000 Series... Which are hard to come by and pricey. I didn't know that the Athlon branding was still a thing.

4 Cores/4 Threads?

You should also look into A320 boards just do some research if they're ok for overclocking, usually it shouldn't be a problem with an athlon, you may need a better cooler tho, it *can* make a difference...

No prob, yeah, athlon has always been a thing, they're basically the cheaper variant of ryzen cpus with, iirc, better price / perf ratio even.

How much are they? Newegg is out of stock and I had to go look at AMD to get the specs. I guess if you need a 35w CPU this will fit the bill. Or something cheap as well.

Personally I would get anything less then 4 Cores.

How is it for a person's Daily Driver? Assuming said person has at least 8GB RAM and 500GB SSD.

Yes, you are nearly correct, My budget is under 250$, but I will extend $50 more ; If extremely necessary.

16Gb dual channel RAM and 250Gb pny NVME/Or Patriot Burst 480GB SATA |||

I think this cannot be overkill.

I wouldn't bother with getting less then ~500GB of Storage these days.  A ~$250 budget for building a New Rig will be extremely limited. If you can, try to do a ~$500 one if at all possible.

What are you using now?

If you want to go as cheap as possible, just go for A320. It's okay enough for what it is, if future upgradability and overclocking isn't a priority.

Otherwise, a cheap B450. The B450(M) Pro4 and B450M Pro-VDH Max are what I'd ideally look at, but then again even a B450M DS3H which is about as cheap as B450 gets will work. That being said, Asrock's B450M HDV is also about as cheap as it gets for B450, and it's an absolute dumpster fire, despite it being Asrock, wink wink.

...it kinda isn't, even Biostar has some alright boards. I know for sure that they had an X570 board that was solid.

That is fairly old. And didn't even have a SSD... Well a new build even with the lowly Athlon 3000G will be a major improvement even if you still had the old system.

Doesn't that prove my point tho? Out of 1000s of motherboards they had 1 that was alright, umm...

But anyways, 350/320 what's the difference? I don't even know if you need good vrms for this cpu, but it couldn't hurt I guess!?

Make some suggestions that are cheap / solid (preferably under 70 bucks...) instead of arguing about a weird agenda, I just said I wouldn't buy certain brands in the lower price tier because from experience I know they're problematic.

No, it doesn't, lol. I just gave you one example.

I'm guessing that you didn't even bother to read my entire reply, because I have given suggestions.

I'm "arguing" with your point that someone should go for Asrock if they want a cheap board, because clearly Asrock is better than any other manufacturer out there, which is too general of a statement to be remotely accurate.

As I've, again, just said in my reply above, Asrock's cheap B450 HDV is A320 levels of crap.

No my friend, my PC are now totally destroyed.. because a corrupt shopkeeper downgrade my computer and install a very cheap quality power supply.and downgrade 4GB ddr3 to ddr2 2GB RAM. So two days later after repairing, that was a burning trash..

I have only the quotation page nothing else I have.

But that was very unique moment because my father gifted me on my birthday. so that was very special PC for me but not worth for money..

By the way, thank you so much for your suggestion.

And Thanks to all for this discussion.
