Is MSI on their shit again?

So I live in the UK and was thinking of checking the price or 3080s and I found this listing from MSI, with a price that's double MSRP in the UK which is 649 bucks. Is MSI scalping again or is there something I'm not aware of behind this listing?

That’s not a listing from MSI. Even if it was, they can list their cards at whatever price they want.

iPhone 12 Mini / Sony WH-1000XM4 / Bose Companion 20

that makes two this week for some MSI accusations

I don't like MSI's business practices but at least gotta distribute accurate blame.

well, the last time they did this it was potentially illegal, MSI was caught scalping their own cards through a controlled third party for a short period. But they administered refunds for the products.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

I meant if they’re listing it themselves. As far as what they did previously... I’m not super familiar. I don’t think it’s illegal to do what you said, but I could be wrong.

They’re allowed to sell and list their products for whatever price they want to. There’s no government agency telling manufacturers how to price their electronics.

They had a subsidiary that is under their corporate umbrella that is only supposed to sell B-stock, or return type products, sell some of their 30xx series cards at double the MSRP during the height of the shortages. I don't think it was MSI intentionally doing it, more of a lonewolf who ran the shop, but still underhanded and they were caught. So they offered refunds on the difference that was charged.

What the OP is showing us, looks to be just another Scalper, not affiliated with MSI. Just happens that they are selling an MSI card. The devil is in the details.

Then it's they cant if they want to maintain their rep. I dont think Nvidia will let it slip tho

-> Moved to Graphics Cards

Just gonna say that artificially inflating any prices would be bit odd practice if competition is not doing same. You will lose both money and reputation by doing that. Not worth it.
