Users are reporting that their computers will refuse to enter Sleep mode even when it would normally be triggered through a hardware event (i.e.: pressing a power/sleep button or closing a laptop's lid). Apparently, some users have also experienced their PC's waking seemingly at random.

This isn't all that new, though. At least the second part was already present in 1803. In fact, I'm not aware of any Windows version for which sleep worked consistently as intended across devices. It's been hit and miss ever since I first tried it (XP?)

That's what I'm thinking they should be held liable for their constant update woes,also taking away features not just breaking things because they're too cheap to have proper QA...

I only paid 3 bucks for this pos however ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

does this affect 1903/1909 or just 2004?

2 things have happened since my update. I cannot say if it's happened because of the update but it started happening after the update.

BSOD driver power state failure saying my usbhub3 was the cause.

Windows freezing/latency with latencymon telling me my ndis.sys is the cause.

:( is it safe just to stick with 1909?  Because I keep on hearing bad things about 2004 feature update.

Interestingly, my AMD based desktop for the longest time didnt show 2004 as a possibility. While my laptop had long since updated to 2004, my desktop did not show the update as available.

Perhaps Microsoft has paused the rollout?

Yeah all of my desktops and my laptop are still on 1909.  I won't update it until Microsoft starts patching it.  No way I'm going to update to 2004.  Microsoft needs to fix this ASAP.

I just corrected that, you can report it and a mod will most likely edit the quote to help readability.

Lets keep this thread about the news, he has a thread for his issue, that's where people should try to help ;

Thanks, and I didn't mean to start a support thread, but you're right. Thanks again!

I have Win 10 Pro, so uh

I have 10 Education edition, which is basically the same. I don't think the edition makes any kind of difference with this issue, so I'm not sure what you're getting at here.

@SpaceGhostC2CYes, I acknowledged this fact.

This issue was subsequently patched with update KB4568831, but it seems the September version 2004 (KB4571756) optional/Insider update has caused the issue to rear its ugly head once more.

Also, I didn't have issues with Windows 7, so maybe you got unlucky, but generally sleep has been fairly good to me.
