Question about fps and hz

Guys so I play call of duty warzone, Ive got a 1440p/165hz monitor (mag272qp msi) monitor with free sync, Ive got my freesync/Gsync on on my nvidia geforce panel, my question would be is I dont get 165fps or above when playing the game. does it effect something or nothing?

It will be able to display all your FPS, if you had more FPS, you wouldn’t be able to display it.

you are not using your panel for 100% of it speed but that is okay

no given that he isn't at 165 he isn't using 100% of his panels speed

FreeSync/Gsync allows for variable refresh rate, meaning if you are pushing out 100FPS your monitor will display 100Hz, all the way up to 165Hz in your case as that is your max refresh rate. This keeps image quality smooth and prevents tearing.

For Gsync you need an Nvidia GPU, and for FreeSync Panels you need a Radeon GPU, although some FreeSync panels are also Gsync compatible.

guys I dont know how to reply on your comment about my question, anyways thanks for the help. but I dont understand what you mean scuff gang, I mean I play with 165hz but I cant get to play 165fps or above continuously. is there a bad thing about playing with 165hz monitor and not getting 165fps while I play?

JM21 yes my monitor is a freesync panel that is compatible to gsync.

you lose out on the slight speed advantage. afforded by the 165hz display

oh, so quote means reply to a comment. I got now, well so do you recommend me then to change my monitor hz to 144 when I play COD warzone, because I know I can play the game with 144fps more or less continously.

I wasn’t saying it using 100% of his panel

It’s *able* to display all your FPS, if he had more than 165 FPS the panel wouldn’t be able to display it all.

no gsync is suppose to cover that gap.

If he is not hitting 165fps, there’s headroom for more frames to be displayed by the monitor.

if he was hitting above 165fps, the monitor wouldn’t be able to display that many FPS.

No need to do that.

Let's say you get the 140fps during big firefight, your monitor will show you 140 frames per second.

But in some less hectic situations you get the 160fps, your monitor will show you 160 frames per second.

It's not a big difference, most people won't notice it, but it's still there and will give you a small edge.
